How great it was on campus in May, studying outside in the warmer air, the Hums in front of Dartmouth Row, and, of course, Green Key Weekend. These thoughts filled my head as I began this May column.

The idea of a postcard for class secretaries was suggested to me by my wife, and I was pleased to see the experiment in the March issue of the Magazine. Maybe some of us will have interesting material for future columns. Your use of this card and expending of postage would truly be appreciated by this classmate.

Still active in the business world is DickHanselman. He is a consultant, and he was recently elected a director of Synor International Corp., a provider of medical diagnostic imaging services.

This winter in Florida Leigh and I had occasion to play tennis with Vi and JohnnyAdler. We were recently invited to dinner at their place and had a chance to catch up on the doings of Ann and Joel Berson. They both enjoy the New York City living and the opportunity to escape some to their condo in Windham. Joel admitted they are just beginning to think about a change in lifestyle.

Another neighbor here in Sarasota is TomTowler, who has just finished remodeling a new home on Siesta Key. Tom has taken up boating, and we became classmates again in a Power Squadron Piloting course. Tom and Sue leased out the house while they took a six-week trip to India, did some hiking in Katmandu, visited Bangkok, Australia, Tahiti, and returned via Dallas.

Heard from another world traveler, and no doubt this is because of his time as a class secretary. Quent Kopp understands how much help is needed for a column. So his note about his doings is appreciated. Quent and Mara spent 19 days in places like Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tullin, Riga, and Vilna. Mara was born in Latvia and left at age three when her parents fled, so on this trip she had a chance to become reacquainted with 12 of her relatives.

Also on this trip, Quent went searching for relatives of his father in a village 70 miles East of Vilna in Byelorussia, but he found no vestiges of Jewish life in this village. Quent continues his proactive life as a state senator, representing his constituents on transportation matters and other issues in California.

On his way to Europe he said he came across a reference to our Skip Ungar in Harvard Magazine. A friend had written this ode: I read in the paper That Harry F. Ungar Performs in a night spot Near soingé Scotch Pains Caressing the Keyboard While affluent yuppies Are eating and drinking Their capital gains.

Send postcards please.
