John Christiansen took his senior fall term off in 1986 to work as an intern at Yosemite National Park in California. While there, he met Tatiana Bordokoff. The rest, as they say, is history. John and Tatiana were married February 2 and have settled near the park. John is a park ranger, and his new bride works as a wine steward (I was going to say "wine stewardess," but then I thought the right term should have been "wine flight attendant" and I was getting way off track, so pardon any gender confusion there).
John reports that Tom Fiddaman attended the wedding and that Tom is working in Durham, N.H., "doing resource modeling and gaming, and spending a lot of time in Europe." I don't know about resource modeling, but I believe gaming is illegal, even in New Hampshire, which would explain Tom's frequent absences overseas.
Kent Hoxsey took time off from his new business, Transport Service Finance of Sausolito, Calif, (is it me, or does "Sausolito" sound like Mexican fast food?), for John's wedding, as did Andrew McAllister, who is a graduate student in the energy and resources group at Berkeley. Amy Baker, who works for Sunset Magazine in San Francisco, was also in attendance.
Despite his great adventures at Yosemite, John is now applying to graduate schools, focusing on public policy studies involving land management and natural resources.
Scott Rodrick has been busy working for the Rodrick Management Group in conjunction with the McDonald's Corporation. He has also been active on our class's leadership giving committee for the Alumni Fund.
In an interesting turn of events, TomStockham has followed up his newly-earned M.B.A. degree from Stanford by managing the campaign of U.S. Senate candidate Doug Anderson of Utah.
Jeff Slaton will also be earning an M.B.A. this year from the University of Washington. As if studying isn't time-consuming enough, Jeff has been working as an engineer for Boeing on such projects as the B-2 airplane (here, I wasn't sure if it was polite to say "bomber," and I thought "explosive transport and delivery vehicle" was too wordy).
Add Nancy Davis Lyness to the rolls of the recently wed. Nancy was married earlier in the year, and she and her husband, David, are both in school in New York. Among Nancy's Dartmouth pals at the wedding was Lisa Neveling, who does feasibility studies for the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
Kurt Schneider is still working for Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising in New York City. He is currently an account executive in charge of their Cheerios account for General Mills.
Well, the reunion is truly upon us. MattMcllwain and his committee have assembled a terrific schedule of events, and the initial responses have been quite positive. My final Reunion Tip of the Month is that it is never too late to sign up for the reunion, unless of course you sign up after June 21. So grab all of your Dartmouth Green and head for Hanover!
