There are some people whose stories just plain sound impressive.

Take Stephanie Taylor, for example. Stephanie tells me that she has just earned her master's degree in applied physiology and nutrition at Columbia University. She is now a participant in a year-long dietetic internship at the Roosevelt Hospital which prepares her to become a registered dietician.

Stephanie reports that Drew Desky can't seem to stay busy enough at his job at the Bank of New York. As a result, he is involved in three different singing groups in the city

Meanwhile, Laura Kennedy has moved to London where she is teaching first and second grade. Interestingly, a number of the children are from Bangladesh, so Laura is trying to keep her American slang in check.

I must admit that the news I have been receiving is getting spicier. One story involves budding novelist Valerie Frankel, who has had her book, A Deadline for Murder, published recently. The book centers on the character Wanda Mallory, a tough private investigator who fights to solve the murder of a porn magazine publisher. According to a press blurb for the book, "Wanda's heart belongs to 'Mama,' her pearl-handled .22, and to her cat Otis." As you can see, it's basically a Boy Meets Girl, Boy Kills Girl, Boy Meets "Mama" kind of story.

I received a postcard from RalphGarretson the other day that arrived in one of those little Postal Service body bags for mail explaining that, out of the millions of pieces of mail handled each day, a few find their way into the gears of the sorting machinery and get chewed on for a while. This card escaped with only a few teeth marks and some grease smears. Anyway, Ralph reports that he and Dave Myers are in Zurich working for Andersen Consulting out of their San Francisco office (I'd call that way out of their San Francisco office). They are currendtly involved with a project at the Swiss Options and Financial Futures Exchange, known to financiers and other eurostuds as SOFFEX. Ralph joined up with Andersen after earning I a masters in civil engineering at Stanford.

Ralph also passed along the word that JimBahrenburg has recently begun work for Disney in Los Angeles. Th-th-that's all, folks!
