EllenHarrington has been named special events and exhibits coordinator for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Yes, that's right, she's an Oscar girl now. Ellen graduated with a degree in comparative literature and has turned it into quite a ticket. After the Big Green, she attended NYU and then went on to work at the Shakespeare Festival's Public Theater. But soon she turned to celluloid, working for Punch Productions, Dustin Hoffman's production company, and then Creative Artists Agency. Obviously, with that background, Oscar snapped her up. At the Academy, Ellen will be responsible for special events and the development of in-house exhibitions.
Well, not to be shown up, Katie BrownBlackburn had her own brush with fame recently when she was profiled in the Day- ton Daily News under the headline, "Bengal Exec Following Father and Grandfather." Katie serves as the Cincinnati Bengals' corporate secretary and legal counsel. Her grandfather was the team's founder, and her father is the general manager. Her father is quoted as saying, "Eventually Katie and I will change positions in regard to day-to-day adminitration of the franchise." Last November Katie had a little girl named Elizabeth Ann.
Karen Hannaway Albright has a two- year-old son named Eric, and by the time you read this she will have given birth to another Albright! Karen is a lawyer and currently teaches at Case Western Reserve Law School in Cleveland. Natalie Sokil Bej is also enjoying motherhood with her husband, Andrew, and their daughter Nina Alexa. Natalie practices corporate and securities law in Washington, D.C. And more tiny little feet can be heard at the Gruver household. Jamie and Kara Van Bremen Gruver have a baby boy named Alex. Jamie is completing his pediatric residency at Children's Hospital in Chicago, while Kara works as a consultant at Bain and Cos.
Deena Bein Jenab and her husband, John, have recently bought a house in D.C. Deena practices with Jones Day, and John is an attorney 0at the SEC.
Besides keeping us informed of Alumni Council information, Dan Katzir is also busy with his new career at UCLA's School of Management. Dan writes, "I moved out to LA last October to head a new program at UCLA. It's kind of like an executive M.B.A. for educators, and I'm working closely with Ted Mitchell, former Dartmouth education professor and now dean of the Graduate School of Education at UCLA."
