"Now and then an innocent man is sent to the legislature."—Kin Hubbard
Our brush with fame candidate for this month is John Geisser. I recently received a press release on John, who has joined Brown, Rudnich, Freed & Gesmer as an associate in the firm's corporate practice group. He will be based in the Boston office and currently lives in Brookline, Mass. Previously, John was one of our "policy-wonk" classmates, working for the Presidential campaigns of both Dukakis and Clinton. He graduated from Boston College Law School in 1993.
We also have a legal eagle in Karen Garnett, who works for Wright, Lindsey, and Jennings, in Little Rock, Ark. Karen graduated from University of Texas Law School and has been working in the legal area of corporate securities for the last three years. Last summer, Karen took a trip up north to attend JanetQuigley's wedding. Janet graduated from MlT's Sloane School with an M.B.A. and works for Putnam Funds in Boston.
Kim Clausen McDermott is now a doctor finishing up her residency in North Carolina. Kim is in pediatrics. She and her husband, Bruce, hope to move out west at the end of the year Jane MacDonald Hoffman
and Jeff Hoffman live in Nashua, N.H., and have started their own computer-consulting company called Symphony Software Corp. The two are also building a "house and expecting their first child.
Kim Murchison has made quite an odyssey since graduating from the Big Green. She first fell into the corporate rat-race in New York, working for a bank and commuting from Port Washington. Later she moved to Boston, working in the same field. However, banking just could not keep Kim's interest, and she decided to go for her master's at the University of California at Santa Cruz, working and studying on the UCSC farm. There she met her husband-to-be and the two later married in Missoula, Mont., where they now live. The two have gone into an organic-farming venture with Bob Hackett and his wife, KarenZischke, in Missoula. The group is faring well and probably offer us a glimpse of this country's agricultural future. The post has been getting a little thin lately, so wake up and help me keep your class up-to-date on your whereabouts. Thanks in advance.
