I finally entered the 21st century this month with my first e-mail message, graciously submitted by TomPalisi. A molecular biologist with Merck in their Growth Factor Research department, Tom is also finishing his second year of law school at Rutgers, in hot pursuit of a career in patent law. Tom says of wife Susan, "Because I've been so busy with work and school, every time I see her seems like we are still on our honeymoon."

Tom checks in weekly with Craig Budner, who resides with his wife and two dogs in Dallas. He also tracked down AaronDeykin—both Aaron and his wife graduated from Harvard Med and practice in the Boston area. Tom warns not to call these young doctors after 8 p.m. as they are bound to be asleep from exhaustion.

Susan Conroy has led the life of a missionary since her days as an economics major at Dartmouth. She spent three months in Calcutta aiding Mother Theresa, and on returning home to Portland, Maine, she took a job with the Maine Children's Cancer Program. Susan later journeyed again to Calcutta on a humanitarian mission and recendy has contemplated joining a Carmelite convent.

Juan Mejia has joined the law firm of Meredith, Donnell and Abernethy in Corpus Cristi, Texas. Juan, a graduate of Georgetown Law, clerked previously for U.S. District Judge Hayden Head. He is also licensed to practice law in New York.

I must apologize to Alice Toole Baldwin for assigning her husband Sherman the wrong alma mater in a previous column—he is indeed a Yalie, not a Princetonian. Since I last reported on them, Alice and Sherman have moved to Virginia, where she will try to waive into the D.C. bar, having passed the New York and Connecticut bars last summer.

Alice was able to catch me up on lots of news. Liz O'Connell completed her first year at Harvard Business School, where she was coxswain for a men's crew boat. She held a summer position in marketing at PepsiCo, splitting her time between White Plains and the Jersey Shore at Bay Head. Ali Graf completed Georgetown Law in 1992 and practices corporate law at Brown & Wood in N.Y.C. In August Ali married Bert Hazlett, who is currently at Columbia Business School. Karen Wienski married Laurance Calcano in May, whom she 'met while both were at Tuck.

I received my first postcard ever from Thailand, where Ed Boyle was enjoying his monthlong honeymoon, island hopping through Southern Thailand and Indonesia! Ed married Cameron Snell, his HTH of ten years. Eighty-sevens in attendance included RickPepperman, David Suny, and Nigel Eckern. Ed's uncle, Rev. Ed Boyle '53, T'55 married the couple in Greenwich Village, then it was off to the reception at Sounds of Brasil nightclub, where the first dance was the Argentine Tango! (Ed claims the couple had three months of lessons after seeing Al Pacino strut his stuff in "Scent of a Woman.") Ed is a marketing manager for American Express in N.Y.C.

Hope everyone is enjoying the fall. .. see you at the bonfire!
