Many '62s returned to Hanover for the Harvard Homecoming Weekend mini-reunion. KentHutchinson organized a fun-filled agenda including cocktails and dinner at our 1962 headquarters at Fahrenbrae, Thetford Hills, Vt. A special post-Dartmouth Night activity was graciously hosted by John and Jill Schiffman at their Hanover home.

While on the topic of reunions, DickFuglesang reports on a Dartmouth gettogether during Dartmouth Professor Oran Young's visit in June to Norway. Dick's brother Hans, Peter Fuglesand '67, and many other Dartmouth alums attended, including our own David Shorer. Dave is the first secretary at the American Embassy in Oslo. Professor Young was joined by Professor Kaare Rodahl, a Norwegian guest lecturer at Dartmouth during the 19505, and Polar explorer Sjur Mordre, the first Norwegian to reach both the South and North Poles.

In June Dr. Frank Kehl, joined by Dr. Robert A. Picken '56, attended the Fifth Sino-American Conference on Education held in Taiyuan, Shanxi, Peoples Republic of China. Frank, who is now assistant to the provost at Baruch College of CUNY, is one of the original organizers of this higher-education exchange series with China.

The Bostons Globe's "Who, What, Where" column of July 2 5 reported the installation of Arthur "Artie" Hoover as one of the governors-at-large of the New Hampshire Bar Association. Congratulations, Art.

Other news publications report the appointment of L. Brewster Jackson as chief executive officer of United Press International. Brewster, who resides with his wife, Gail, in West Norwalk, Conn., is former president and CEO of Pressnet Systems Inc. Brewster's prior media, cable, and broadcast positions at Reuters Information Services and his European-correspondent and TV-newscaster experience will serve him well in this worldwide, multi-media communications position.

The July 1993 issue of Lacma Physician reports the appointment of Dr. John H.Buckner as president of Southeast District 10, Los Angeles. John earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and served his residency and internships at Harlem Hospital, New York Orthopedic Hospital, and Rancho Los Amigos. John, an orthopedic surgeon, serves on the medical staffs of St. Francis Medical Center, Downey Community Hospital, and Charter Suburban Hospital while residing in South Pasadena, Calif.

The Norwalk Hour reports Kent E. Hutchinson's promotion to vice president of programs at Norden Systems. Hutch's experience as a naval F-4 Phantom Two aircraft pilot and as manager of targeting and weapon delivery systems at Norden provides the background for his new position at the Norwalk-based military electronic subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. More important for '62s, Hutch and wife Joan host great minireunions!

Alan W. Bryant has been named vice president of human resources for Paramount Publishing's Computer Curriculum. Al joins Paramount after a 28-year career at General Electric, most recently serving as manager, human resources, for GE-Nuclear Energy. Al resides in Los Gatos, Calif.

I Congratulations to all noted, and to unreported '62 achievers as well! I am sure your modesty was the reason for my relying on news publications rather than personal notes to report your achievements. Send cards!
