A recent Los Angeles Daily Journal article magnifi-cently profiles the career of Bruce J. Ennis civil litigator. In this comprehensive biographical sketch, Bruce is described by other outstanding (and often opposing) litigators as "the best lawyer I ever saw, fierce in his commitment, and absolutely indefatigable." After Dartmouth and University of Chicago Law School, Bruce's unusual career has included clerking for U.S. District Chief Judge William Miller; three years with Wall Street litigator-supreme Charles Pickett; 12 years of public-interest law as an attorney with the New York Civil Liberties Union then as national legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union; partner of his own small litigation firm; and currently head of the appellate-practice group of Jenner & Block, a major D.C. and Chicago firm. Brace's main goal "to work on cuttingedge legal issues with cutting-edge legal people" has been met as he has successfully tackled ground-breaking cases involving the First Amendment, media law, women's rights, and punitive damages. As a public-interest advocate or private lawyer, Bruce has appeared as counsel in more than 200 Supreme Court cases and has argued about one dozen cases before said high court. Bruce, his wife, Emily, and their two sons reside in D.C.

Congratulations to Dr. Bruce A. Feldman on his election as president of the medical staff at Children's National Medical Center. Bruce has been associated with Children's Hospital since 1972 and maintains his otolaryngologist practice in nearby Chevy Chase, Md. Bruce's family ties with Children's are strong, with his father, Dr. Irwin Feldman, serving as past chairman of the department of otolaryngology and his wife, Sharon, serving as docent when the hospital first opened in 1977. Bruce, Sharon, and family now reside in Potomac, Md.

Congrats also to Jim and Marnie Haines on the arrival of their second grandchild.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports that Frank and Deborah Barber have purchased Brattleboro Printing Inc., an off-set printer producing brochures, yearbooks, and stationery, and publishing the New England Showcase, an advertising publication for New England real-estate agents. Frank, after Dartmouth, earned a doctorate in electrical engineering from U. of Washington, followed by stints with Boeing, Life Sciences Inc., and Pfizer Medical Devices before returning to his native Vermont. Frank will be general manager with responsibilities for printing and production, while wife Deborah will be in charge of sales and marketing. Best wishes to the Barbers in their new enterprise.

I finally located the misplaced letter from Charles L. Simpson. Chuck and wife Anneliese, after several stops in Cincinnati and overseas, are now well established in Omaha, where he maintains his managementconsulting firm. Their daughter Carla has recently graduated from Parson's School of Design in Paris and is engaged in textile design in Europe, while son Peter is a senior at Cornell majoring in applied and engineering physics. Chuck, having now settled down after many moves, wants to pursue more Dartmouth activities, and hopes to attend our 55 in '95 'Frisco Bash along with many '62s.
