“I thought I had real reasons for going back to school, but since I’ve been at [Harvard], I’ve realized that just getting out of the rat-race for a few years will be the most welcome change.”—PhilTombaugh

Weddings are the order for this month’s column. Lynne Ten Hoopen was married last summer to Ed Lear ’B3 in an incredible setting in Palos Verdes, Calif. The two love- birds’ “chapel” was perched high on a cliff directly overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Lynn and Ed first met at Dartmouth in 1982 when he asked her out for a dinner at Peter Chris- tian’s. However, neither must have a made a great impression on the other, as the second date did not occur until many years later. About ten! Like that follow up, Ed! Their wed- ding was attended by a myriad of Dartmouth alums, including Alicia Macri Lindgren,Jessica Cohn Healy, Kathy Bannon Keith,Margaret Taylor, Karin Bravin, Ellen Stein, and the list goes on and on. The couple spent their honeymoon in Bali and have settled in the Los Angeles area.

Much the same crowd were on hand for Karin Bravin’s wedding this October in New York. Karin married John Lee, who is also her business partner. The two have an art gallery in SoHo. The gallery is keeping the couple so busy that they will postpone a honeymoon until a better time. Also celebrating at Karin’s wedding was Andrew Getraer, who recent- ly had a baby boy, Sandy, with his wife Jean ’B9. Alex Rossides made an appearance, as did Dan Schriebman, who is studying for his doctorate in clinical psychology at Columbia. Liza Henriquez de Sosa flew in from Pana- ma to participate in the nuptials, making sure to tote her picture album displaying three beautiful children, the oldest of whom is six. Anne Mahoney and her husband, Alike, also celebrated with the gang.

Sarah Sherwood was married in Sep- tember, writes Wini Welch Foster. “Sarah was just gorgeous—and it was fun to catch up with people I had not seen for almost eight years. Such as Carol Andreuzzi, KirstinCaivert, Krista Thomas, Jen, Jenny, and Stephanie, Beth Kostman, Neil and others.”

Tom Pennekamp was married last sum- mer in Miami to Galia Gomez. Many of the Beta clan were on hand, including MattLanda, Bill Marozas, Bob Rech, GregLesco, and Phil Tombaugh. Phil has decid- Ed to leave his management-consulting career behind to enter Harvard Business School this fall.

Thanks to Phil for the following updates: Matt and Bill are living together in San Fran- cisco and working together at Silicon Valley Technologies, a manufacturer of electronics for computer and telecommunications equip- ment. Bob works in mergers and acquisitions for Sumitomo in New York, where he lives with his wife, Dolly. Greg works for a private investment firm in New York and was recent- ly married to Kelly Cooper, Kier Cooper’s sister.

Rob Ricciardelli has started his first year at Tuck. David Magner has returned to Boston after living in L.A. and San Diego for the last seven years. He works for a consult- ing firm in the office-products industry. Diar-muid O’Connell has recently accepted a post in Warsaw as the assistant general manager with McCann-Erickson advertising in Poland.

Tom Stephens lives with Chan Morgan, Matt Burke, and Per Furmark in New York. Although Tom lives and works (for Reuters) in the Big Apple, he recently decided to pur- chase a Ford Explorer in Chicago and drive it back to N.Y.C. He made it with no mishaps, but unfortunately die car was stolen his first night back in the city!

Christy Hale lives in San Francisco, where she is studying for the MCATs. She also teaches journalism in Hayward, Calif.

That’s all for now. Keep the news and let- ters coming overseas!
