John Engelman recently came up with a list showing that 49 1968 legacies have matriculated at the College so far. This fall's group of 12 legacies is by far the largest, with the next largest being the seven legacies who matriculated with the class of 1995. Thanks, John.
If you're going to be in Hanover for the Yale game October 15, there are several class activities to keep in mind. We'll be marching in the parade on Dartmouth Night and joining the classes of '66 and '67 for a postgame reception in the Smoyer Lounge. Also there will be a '68 tailgate section on the south lawn of Alpha Delta across from the gym. Bring your own food, beverages, and provisions. The class will provide a deli tray. John Engelman plans to have the tailgate party before every home football game, weather permitting. Be sure to stop by. Thanks, John, for making all the arrangements.

Secretary of Labor Bob Reich's activities have been well documented by the media. In January Business Week, as part of its cover story, commented on the growing significance of Bob's role in helping formulate, communicate, and execute the administration's agenda to restore American competitiveness. In March The New York Times reported on his participation in the Group of Seven Jobs Conference in Detroit and the growing role he is playing in policy-setting. In July he appeared in western Massachusetts with Senator Kennedy to announce a significant federal grant to better educate and train non-college-bound high-school students for the work force. The only thing Bob hasn't been able to do was to head off the start of the baseball strike in August.
