Word from Washington, D.C., is that Clark Wadlow has become president of the Federal Communications Bar Association, a national organization comprising 3,000 lawyers engaged in the practice of communications law before the Federal Communications Commission.

Chuck Cramb of Wellesley, Mass., has been elected senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer at The Gillette Co. According to the press release, Chuck has been with Gillette since 1970. He earned his M.B.A. at the University of Chicago.

Readers of the Morristown (N.J.) Daily Record are treated once a week to a column written by Terry Dwyer. The byline describes Terry as a math tutor. In a column written last July, Terry described himself as successfully quarterbacking his New Milford high school team out of a 26-game losing streak, earning a math degree from Dartmouth and an M.B.A. from the University of British Columbia, as well as marrying a marvelous lady and persuading her to stay married to him. Terry is very outspoken against the status quo in public school teaching and well worth reading.

Wayne Wadhams, with his Bostonbased recording company, Skyline Records, was the featured entrepreneur in Boston Business Journal. The article describes Wayne's development in the music industry, including his stint as lead singer and keyboard player for The Fifth Estate, whose single, "Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead," hit the top 25 in the 19605. For you venture capitalists, Wayne is looking for capital to bring his company to the next level with expanded sales and marketing.

Ohio Casualty Insurance, Ohio Security Insurance, American Fire and Casualty, and West American Insurance have named Ted Kuss assistant vice president. Ted received his master's degree in mathematics from the University of Oregon. Barry Abelson was recently elected to the executive committee of the board of directors of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Barry is also chair of the executive committee at his law firm, Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz. He was recently cited by the Corporate Finance Institute as being among the leading lawyers in the country for the number of initial public offerings and aggregate dollar amount of initial public offerings completed in 1996. If you're looking for reading material to help create a diverse and gender-equal environment, you may want to check your local bookshelves for The Gender Knot by Allan Johnson. Allan is a sociologist, writer, and trainer/consultant who teaches at Hartford College for Women. The book is published by Temple University Press.

John Engelman has another great minireunion planned for September 18 and 19 in Hanover. He has reserved a block of rooms at Dowds' Country Inn. John is planning a tailgate party for Saturday and a dinner for Saturday night.
