The Class Treasurers Association has given us a sobering statistic. In 1993 only 48 percent of our total alumni paid their class dues. The dues cover the cost of the DAM, postage for our newsletter, and many other class projects.

Whip and Addie Walser disclosed some details of their spring cruise. They will sail from Antigua to the Azores and Madeira Islands, and then to Lisbon. After touching interesting ports in Spain and France, they arrive at Dartmouth. (Will they meet the Earl?) From there, Whip reminds us, the English fleet sailed to whip the tempest-torn Spanish Armada. The Walsers met Dick and Mary Olmsted before the latter's globe-girdling journey. "They're doing a lot of traveling, " said Whip and added, "Good competition."

The College's most renowned athletes and coaches are designated "Wearers of the Green." These are members of Olympic teams, National and International Champion teams, and All-Americans. Among coaches being inducted into the association is our Art Allen, who will join 24 former Dartmouth sailors previously inducted.

Bob Reinhardt says his lifestyle is now normal and enjoyable since Helen's knee is fine after arthroscopic surgery.

Jim North called to give us the sad news of the passing of his brother-in-law and our classmate Bill Davis. When we asked Jim how he was doing he said he was fine except for weakness of his legs. His doctor told him he was a chemical masterpiece but a mechanical disaster! When Ed Marks and Vera went to San Francisco to visit Vera's children they had a most pleasant reunion with Jim and Peg at the North's lovely home perched high on Russian Hill.

From Cape Neddick, Maine, Bob Black writes that his wife, Barbara, died Christmas day following 53 years of a happy marriage. He planned to stay in Maine in spite of the almost continuous winter blasts.
