"Dutch" Schroedel was elected last fall for a second three-year term as Trustee of the Presbyterian-University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. He is a member of the building committee which has under way a seventy million dollar program. Back in 1946-48 "Dutch" was in charge for Turner Construction Company of building the Firestone Library at Princeton and was present recently at the dedication of an addition to this structure.

He also writes that he and Florence had a fine visit with John and Ruth Packard at Osterville on Cape Cod in September and on the way back to Philadelphia stopped to see Sara Friedmann at Old Lyme, Conn. Karl was at that time in the hospital for an operation but was reported recuperating nicely.

Jeannette Reeves, widow of Lew Goas, reports seeing the Schroedels in Philadelphia and also reports visits with the Friedmanns and the Packards. Even though Jeannette writes from Vero Beach, Fla., it seems that these Pennsylvania people stick together.

Michael Foster, son of the late AndyFoster and his wife Barbara, was married in December to Nancy Tarbell Carman in Lincoln, Mass. Barbara makes her home in Norwich.

Al Perkins, looking very athletic and with a big smile, appeared in the LaJolla, Calif., press recently on the occasion of a joint birthday luncheon with two tennisplaying friends.

Bob Hardy reports on the Dartmouth dinner in December in Sarasota, Fla. BobSawyer, a regular winter resident, and Paul Deisroth, a visitor, also were present. Ed Burns, another Sarasotan, did not make the dinner but Bob reports that Ed and Francis are going around the world in February on a six-week air trip which visits many of the important "off the main line" places in the world. Bob continues in business in the area and he and his wife do a fair amount of traveling.

Vinal Gunnison retired from the DuPont Company at the end of 1967 and at Signal Mountain, Tenn., "lives a lazy life with a little traveling—England two years ago, Canada last year by way of New England."

Deak Blodgett writes in a fall note that while he can't travel around he is doing better than last year. It is apparent from some of his comments that his vigorous spirit is unchanged.

Bob MacCready reports enjoying retirement in Molly's old home in beautiful Jaffrey Center, N. H. Like most of us, he uses some time in work around the house, but has not completely abandoned his profession as last fall he finished a medical paper on which he had spent quite a bit of time.

Jud Hoover writes from Wallingford, Pa., that he does not have much real news but that he and his wife did visit both Hanover and Whitefield, N. H., this past fall. Commenting favorably on the record of cumulative giving to the College on the part of the Class, he also reports that Mary helped raise over half a million dollars as Pennsylvania area chairman of her class to endow a professorship at Wellesley.

Carl Elmquist retired from his real estate business in August 1970 but in the spring of last year the St. Paul Association of Building Owners and Managers asked him to help establish a worth-while association so he is back at work again three days a week.

Mark Emerson retired from teaching last June and writes that in the fall he was able to get back to New England for the first time in many years to see the autumn foliage. He climbed Mt. Cardigan and enjoyed the thrill of looking up over all the fall colors to Moosilauke, where he was a hutman in the old summit camp in the summer of '23.

Jack Robinson retired from Pennwalt in Philadelphia in 1968 and a year later he and Jean moved to Laguna Hills, Calif., and have all the enthusiasm of most Southern Californians. It is reported that Jack still plays a pretty good game of tennis. Like a lot of us, they are aiming for the 50th, even from the opposite end of the country.
