Summer winding down as I write. Been a somewhat difficult one here at the New Jersey shore. Hot and humid with lots of rough surf, causing all sorts of problems for the bathers. Hope all of you enjoyed wherever you were, whatever you did. You'll read this about the time of our minireunion. Hope to see many of you there.
Don Elliott spent a couple of weeks here at the Jersey shore. Came all the way from Overland Park, Kans. Don's been out there more than 40 years. Had been with Prudential for a while but started his own financial consultant business. Still works a bit, but pretty much retired and playing lots of golf. Had lunch with him twice, somewhat of a record as the average adult dose of "Coleman-forlunch" is once. Good to see you Don and thank you so much for getting in touch.
A bit further west found the Rev. George Magoon in Aurora, Colo. George is a retired Episcopal priest, having labored in the vineyard for 35 years. Last assignment was near Raleigh, N.C. George served in several places before that, and before taking the cloth had been with the YMCA. Wanted particularly to be remembered to the Rev. George Razee. Think I told you a while back, George is also a retired Episcopal priest. Lives in Old Lyme, Conn. Still in the Far West. Talked to Charlie Luberger. Charlie's been in Santa Fe, N.M., since 1984. Before that he was in the oil business in Houston, Texas, for a mere 31 years. Says he's just enjoying life, and Santa Fe's a great place to do that. I have a daughter who lives there. Works for a fancy hotel, so if you're going to visit Santa Fe let me know. Probably can get you into the executive suite.
I tried to reach Ed Linsley in Chula Vista, Calif. Ed, you're unlisted. Drop me a line with your phone number so that we can chat a bit. Last I heard Ed was running a bank somewhere in southern California. Back in the east to Dr. Charlie Cunningham. Charlie's in Springfield, Vt. Pretty much retired. He's a pathologist, belongs to the Adirondack Mountain Club. Hobby is canoeing. Dr. Milt Cooper, if you read this, you can look up Charlie when you're at home in Springfield. Still back East, and Art Bullock holds forth in Darien, Conn. Art spent about 40 years with Paine Webber in N.Y.C. Called it quits about five years ago. Vacations in a place he has on Cape Cosd Dennisport to be precise. Had a nice call from John Steele. It was nice because it was probably before he had read all I wrote about him in the last DAM. Thank you John, for the call.
On August 9 "a bunch of the boys were whooping it up...No, not at the Yukon Halls with "Dan Gerous Dan McGrew," but at Reg Pierce's in Etna, N.H. This group was led by reunion chair Jim von Rohr and Class Prexyjud Hannigan. Several others in attendance but not your writer. Things going on schedule and John McClintock will bring you up to date in his next newsletter. Reg is handling the reunion book and I can promise you it'll be even better than the masterpiece he and Doug Leigh put together for our 25th. So be there! Next June—right around the corner. Send me some news about yourselves, will ya.
