Its nice to know folks are reading the column. DaveMitchell called after seeing former floormate ChipMiller in the last column, to get Chip's current phone number. Of course I was happy to oblige, in exchange for news of Dave's doings of recent years. He has had an interesting journey since Dartmouth, with side trips to journalism school and law school (at Syracuse), stints writing PR stuff for Disney and Ringling Brothers, and is now comfortably established doing legal work in emerging technologies for a small firm in Washington, D.C. Along the way he retired from active duty his first name, David, exchanging it for his (former) middle name, Cary. So, for those of you looking, Cary Mitchell can be found at Besozzi, Gavin, & Craven in D.C., and he lives in beautiful Old Town Alexandria, Va. If you want his number, though, you'll have to call me (and you know what I'll ask in exchange).

Received a letter from Kevin Ash, who reports being burned five years ago in his submission to Class Notes, which mis-reported his work and his whereabouts. While it was not on our watch, we apologize, Kevin, and will endeavor to report accurately on your doings. Kevin runs his own design business, Kevin J. Ash Creative Design, in Monroe, Conn. Kevin specializes in image campaigns, corporate logos, and the like, and recently received a 1994 American Graphic Design award. Kevin married Helen Stehr in May 1990, and together they produced one of Kevin's most creative designs to date—their son Aaron Michael Ash, class of' 16 (as he puts it). If you want to engage Kevin for some design work, call and I'll give you his address (for a referral-fee of more info, of course).

I have been thinking for some time that I needed a personal logo which would instantly identify my correspondence—perhaps Kevin can create it for me. It must be serious and yet funky, modern yet classic, simple and hard-hitting yet subtle, Ivy League but with broad middle-American appeal. I'm sure this is the kind of straightforward assignment Kevin routinely handles. We'll see what he comes up with. More to the point, maybe Kevin should design the logo for our Tenth Reunion in '96, something integrating the beautiful image on Baker Tower with a checkbook and a lot of zeros.

Christmas cards are always a good source of info and material (although if I sent more, perhaps I would get more). Suzanne Powers was clearly well brought up—she always writes a lovely holiday note updating me on her life. Suzanne's graduate work in speech pathology proceeds apace (she's in her third semester), and she also has an internship at North Shore Hospital on Long Island. Husband Tommy works as a computer consultant for Coopers & Lybrand by day and sings opera by night. (Suzanne refers to him as Operaman.) Suzanne kindly provided some telegraphic tidbits on other classmates: "Mark Preston is in med school"; "Joel Thayer is finishing law school"; "Jay Berkow returning to N.Y.C. to direct a revival of The Rink." Send me details, folks—don't be second-hand news!

Finally, I keep getting invites to gigs by jimDoughman and Cat Dail's band, Distant Cousins, but they're always playing at a bad time (for me) at some great place, like CBGB's or Lone Star Road. My New Year's resolution is to see the Cousins live in '95! Keep sending me those postcards, guys. And now that I'm working in the music business, perhaps our paths will cross professionally. I also offer you column space to excerpt interesting lyrics. (If you want the address of the Distant Cousins, you know what to do.)

Hope 1995 is treating you well. Please keep writing.
