Hopkins Center Director Lewis A. Crickard, commenting on The Moore Theater said, "Mrs. Moore understood the importance of these facilities for students and fully realized that she was helping to equip a specialized classroom or laboratory as an investment on behalf of generations of students to come." Flo Moore's $2 million gift to the Will To Excel campaign made possible the renovation of former Center Theater. It also provided for the redesign of the O.J. Buck Lobby adjacent to the theater and a cosmetic renovation for the Top of the Hop.

While planning the renovation, Flo said, "This is a gift for future generations of Dartmouth students. Lansing and I discussed a gift of this nature. You can't do a good job with old tools. The drama department deserves a facelift of its theater." Most of the renovation of The Moore Theater is not visible to an audience. New flooring, new seats, and freshly painted walls were a small part of the project. The project's three parts included replacing the old hydraulic lifts for the orchestra pit; upgrading the theater's mechanical systems, and renovating the house—including adding more seating for disabled people.

A Christmas card from former class president Fred Asher reports that both he and Fran are recovering well from cancer surgery.

Two New York Times obits reported the deaths of federal judge Bill Timbers on November 11 and of former head of CNS News Bill Leonard on November 23.
