The terrible "Winter of '77" has, at long last, succumbed to the inevitable pressures of the month of April and better weather is upon us. With the arrival of robins, flowers and linksmen comes news from classmates the world over. Gathering news this past winter was almost as difficult as recruiting baseball players for a winter league in Buffalo, N.Y. Now that Newsletter Editor Rob Rees-Jones had included post cards in his latest masterpiece, it appears as though correspondence may finally be picking up - and it's about time.

David Graham recently sent news of several classmates which I shall share. "Just a quick (and overdue!) note to pass on some news that's come my way in the past year or so.... RandyTozer writes from med school in Illinois to complain: 'There aren't enough girls here.' DanaMiskell, now in western Massachusetts doing para-legal work with a citizens lobby group, plans to enter B.U. Law School in the fall. Dana reports that Jim Tyre's wedding last summer in L.A. was quite an event, with several '75s attending, including Bill Sasser, Carter Gray, and Paul Cummiskey. 'By midnight,' Dana says, 'the only guests left standing were found by the swimming pool, doing a rendition of "Men of Dartmouth" spirited enough to be called to the attention of the local police.' Mike Martin is still in the Big Apple, moving rapidly up the ranks at McGraw-Hill Publishers. Last October he was promoted again, and now has a secretary. On his trip to the Virgin Islands in January (tough life!) he ran into Rick White. And finally, after a lengthy period of unemployment, for a year now I've been more or less happily employed by State Mutual Insurance, here in Worcester. Any '75ers planning to be in the vicinity would do well to reconsider."

The engagement of Dave "Froggy" Fisette to Karyn D. Morris ('76 graduate of Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing) was recently announced. Froggy is currently attending B.U. Law School while Karyn is a registered nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Jon White is at Fletcher School after taking the fall term off, Xeroxing at Gnomon Copy Center in Harvard Square. All is not tranquil as Jon indicates, "Some wild commies are trying to unionize the place, but since I'm still working part-time there and don't want to pay union dues for stuff I'll never see (and it's a crappy union anyway), I'm helping organize against the drive. If my apartment gets fire bombed, I'll know why.

Jon continues, "Along with some other humans here we enjoy getting thrown out of bars and disco's in Somerville for being grotesque. I see Frank Willich often ... he's working for 1.8.M. in Concord, N.H., and loves it."

Bob Bell is in his second (and last) year at Cambridge "managing to endure the two great curses of England - the weather and the women. The weather beats Buffalo, but the coeds looked great by comparison." Bob goes on to say that he "got together over Christmas with Howie Hodel, who is doing a year at Leuven, Belgium, as a part of his Chicago M.B.A. We went to Spain in search of sunny beaches and found several of the spots where it rains only ten days a year. Unfortunately, we were there all ten days. We spent a lot of time in bars, but Howie usually wanted to go to sleep after three beers. I guess that's what a year at Chicago will do on ex-Sig Ep beer-pong champ and rager. As always, any "75s in the neighborhood are welcome to stop by."

Dave Dunbar has been promoted to an editorial position with Reader's Digest Books in Montreal. His next assignment takes him to Western Canada for the summer to write about previously selected scenic motoring routes for their next publication, Book of the Road.

Dave writes that "it will be an excellent opportunity to return to my home province of Saskatchewan at the company's expense. (Some people insist there's nothing scenic about Saskatchewan unless you get excited by wheat. They may be right, but if anything scenic is out there, I intend to find it!)"

One final note before I tee off: Class Officers Weekend will be held in Hanover early in May and if anyone has any suggestions pertaining to the '75 Class Notes or the ALUMNI MAGAZINE in general, please let me know. See you next month. Fore!
