One of my '34 secretarial predecessors, Stan Silverman, is "second-drafting a screenplay with Budd Schulberg '36, based on his novel Sanctuary V—and also collaborating on a stage play with a onetime Hollywood sitcom writer. Both projects are being conducted by phone, fax, and photocopy." Stan reads a lot, exercises at a cardio-rehab gym, and socializes to a limited extent.

Sarj Sarajian is still working, but for the past 20 years has been practicing geriatrics only. He stopped surfing and skiing three years ago because of arthritic conditions. He finds it difficult to retire, as the practice of medicine is so challenging.

Oscar Cohn had open heart surgery back around July 1, and after two weeks in a nursing home returned to his own home. He is back working in real estate as much as possible, despite the loss of 30 pounds, "starting to get around, but don't expect to fully recover until November or December."

Bill Barnet and Mary moved on September 5th to 40 Autumn Drive, Apt. #268, Slingerlands, NY 12159. Bill advises, "All's well, but the big house is no longer appropriate." After Thanksgiving, they'll be in Stuart, Fla.

Eddie Davis has been making the rounds with his regular doctor, plus his heart and cancer specialists who informed him how fortunate he was two of their other patients with quadruple by-passes had passed away. He says that he's still percolating, but even a beer is forbidden.

The late Ed Moore's son, Ed Jr., is running for his fourth term as county supervisor in Tucson, Ariz. The younger Ed, you remember, was the 1934 Class Baby the first male born to a class member after our graduation.

George "Shorty" Thomas has started his 16th year as tutor and substitute at Cheshire High School. He says, "I'd be lost without those kids." He spent the summer travelling to see daughters Susan in Colorado, Wendy in Maryland, and Deborah in Barbados.

Bob Goodman looks forward to having lunch at our projected Florida minireunion. He writes that he could no longer stand computer illiteracy, so he acquired a laptop and would love to exchange pleasantries with classmates: .

Follow The 1934 Newsletter for details about that Florida reunion, now tentatively at the Beach Club in Naples, on Wednesday and Thursday, February 2526, 1997. Andy Donaldson's the one to write, and he and Nancy are at 3300 Gulf Shore Blvd., N., Apt. 213, Naples, FL 34105-3642.
