While aimlessly milling around Hanover last October there was a big fire or something in the middle of the Green—I happened to bump into Chris"Woody" Markworth.
He was likewise milling around and apparently has been since graduation. With great trepidation he revealed to me that he works in Raleigh/Durham (he refused to be more specific) and is currendy involved in a project which calls for rearrangement of molecules in compounds of magnitude. Beyond that, he claimed to be unable to elucidate. "I could tell you more, but you'd probably make fun of me, and right now, I'm not sure I could handle that." There has been an attempt to vanquish horrid hearsay. "Let's put a stop to the rumor that I work for Andersen Consulting. I don't work for Andersen Consulting. I never have worked for Andersen Consulting. My last name is Anderson, which is kind of close to Andersen, but it does not mean that I work there," e-mailed KristinAndersen, oops, Anderson . Instead, Kristin quit her job at a consulting firm in Stamford, Conn. (NOT WITH ANDERSEN) and moved to Chicago to begin work on "developing multimedia CD-ROM-based training software for a start-up company that's a spinoff of the research that Northwestern University has done in how people learn. Basically, I travel around interviewing executives about their jobs...edit...and integrate the clips into the software tool." All of which has absolutely nothing to do with Andersen.
Sharon Cox was the only '93 (maybe only alum?) to send in "the skinny on my Green friends." And skinny she was—JayBloom is on his way to a Ph.D. in Art History at Duke; Maggie Hughey is working toward a dual degree in law and English, also at Duke; and KeenyaWarner, while playing rugby in Indiana, has been politely brushing aside Sharon's invitations to move east. Sharon herself has been loading up on the dough while living at home and "working for Merck & Cos. as a sales rep in Rockland County."
"Please help me find my roomie of old, Tre Seitz. I haven't seen him since I asked him if he'd seen my parents back on June 13, 1993," wrote Zeke Greenwald, who is "a whopping 20 miles from Hanover. As Adam Persson says, 'Twenty miles from the middle of nowhere is still the middle of nowhere.' I've been working for the past 22 months as director of research development for a small Lebanon company. [This isn't Jeopardy, it's OK to tell me for what company you work, unless you are too embarrassed] I now live in the sticks—Eastman, N.H. There were moose prints down to the lake on Sunday. Just like some strange Northern Exposure rerun." Adam andMelinda Soule are slightly further from nowhere land, living in Hong Kong.
So thought that guy in the Campbell's Soup ad looked awful darn familiar, you know, the one excited about his homecooked meal? It's because it was SteveLargay. I thought so too, but it took Annie Edgerton's letter to point out the obvious. For all of you daytime spudders, you have probably seen Annie yourself. For those of us who work for a living, set your VCR for USA Live which shows on USA Networks from 1-4 p.m. daily. USA Live "is a blend of MST3K, Friends and the People's Court." Which makes it immediately appealing. "It must be seen to be believed." But hey, it's a living. While biding time along the path to Hollywood and prime-time, Annie's been dancing, studying karate, and "supporting postDartmouth roommates (Scott Sylvester '91) on their treks to success."
And Todd Rowley married Jill Ann Limbach on the third of June in a beautiful wedding in Oyster Bay, N.Y.
