The Vail mini-reunion in February was a weekend of skiing, fellowship, and singing that reconnected several long-quiet '61s to the class and served as a prelude to our Hanover Reunion in Tune. Reunion chair Roger McArr and irrepressible Oscar Arslanian reported that several guys who weren't planning on coming to Hanover changed their minds in the Spirit of Vail. The weekend began with 18 inches of new snow on Wednesday, great for skiing, but difficult for those arriving. With numerous detours, Vic Rich spent 16 hours arriving from New York; Art Johnson and Bob Fuller found a two-hour drive taking more than four hours. Roger and Sandy McArt, planning a late arrival anyway, left New York at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, slept at a hotel on the west side of Denver, and drove to Vail "in brilliant sunshine."

The weekend, hosted by class president Art Kelton, Carter Frierson and Oscar, featured daily skiing, and meals at La Tour, the Two Elk Lodge and The Lodge at Vail, as well as dinners at the homes of the Friersons (Friday night) and the Keltons (Saturday.) The Saturday night dinner ended with a round of Dartmouth songs led by former Glee Clubber JackZulick. The skiing was great; they reported, and so was the fellowship. The weekend drew several dozen folks, including besides those already mentioned: JimGilchrist, Pete Synnott, George Breed,Larry Holden, John Hadley, JakeHaertl, Dave Armstrong, Pete Bleyler,John Henry, and Len DiSavino.

Roger reminds that if you haven't already sent in your deposit for our 35th Reunion in Hanover, it's time. The weekend continues to mushroom. AndyUrquhart volunteered to lead a Thursday trip up Mt. Moosilauke for '61s and their families. It will start at 10 a.m. You'll be back in time for the informal buffet dinner in the tent on Thursday night, followed by an evening of CD music selected from Oscar Arslanian's fabulous Hollywood collection.

Mike Gazzaniga, returning to Hanover to join the administration, will be our Friday night banquet speaker with a Frostlike title: "Whose College Is This...I Think I Know..." A Boston band, the Blue Hornets, will play for us both Friday and Saturday night. Said Oscar, who heard the band's tapes, "They are a hot band—the kind of band that everything old sounds new and everything new sounds old, a band that becomes part of the party."

Saturday morning is Frost time, with the symposium led by English professors Bill Cook and Don Pease, and, of course, the dedication of the statue.

And Oscar announces that we will again raffle off the Tanzi license plate, given to the class by Harry Tanzi at our 25th Reunion, and now mounted on a plaque. Mike Murphy, Tom Conger, and NoelKuhrt shared the honors these past five years: who now?

One news note: head agent (and former Alumni Fund director) Henry Eberhardt has accepted the position of director of external affairs for Sea Education Association in Woods Hole, Mass.
