What an incredible time we all had at our 14th reunion! It was great to see so many faces and to renew countless friendships that have endured 18 years. Big thanks go out to Dan Fuchs, Kathy Heafey, Karen Behling and Corrie Martin for their tireless work to make the reunion a success. We were glad that so many classmates, spouses, partners, friends and children were able to attend.
The temperate June reunion weekend in Hanover was filled with joyous meals, golf and hiking outings, evening celebrations and time to visit our favorite spots on campus. There were great opportunities for children to play together and parents to get a well-deserved break for some "adult fun." It almost seemed like a mini-"sophomore summer"—not much work, a little sun and warmth, quality hangout time and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the Hanover plain.
One piece of official business that we conducted over the weekend was the election of a new team of class officers to serve for the next five years. Our new president is Kate Griffiths Harrison; vice president, Matt Greene; treasurer, Peter Pasi; head agent, Matt Schmitz; class newsletter editor, Jeanhee Kim; Webmaster, Maia Mulligan; and co-class secretaries, Bill Levin and Brad Drazen. We are extremely thankful for the great job performed by our class officers of the last five years. Our new team is "tanned, rested and ready" to serve you for the next five.
As your new class co-secretaries (or is it co-class secretaries?), we hope to provide you with interesting news about our classmates and a little bit of fun along the way. When the two of us started our illustrious Dartmouth careers together in a UGA group on the second floor of Streeter in the fall of 1986, neither of us could' ever have imagined in our wildest dreams that we would achieve such lofty "copositions." Now, that this honor has been so generously co-bequeathed upon us, we are committed to utilizing this column as retribution against all the people who wronged us during four years in Hanover! (Oops, did that actually get in the column?) We hope to be able to reach all members of our class and to make it a central point for communication. Our goal is to have updates on at least half the class during the next five years! We look forward to hearing from you in any way you see fit: e-mail, snail mail, phone, fax, telegram or cave drawing. (Otherwise, we will be forced to make things up about you.)
As is often with reunions, there are folks who for one reason or another are unable to make it. We would love to get an update from the following people that we personally missed running into: Ben Forbush, Stig and Kelin Colberg, Rob Crawford, John Lynch, Scott Facher, Jenny Bransford, Fraser Leversedge, Joel Newton, Steffen Nelson, Becky Baggett, Walt Palmer, Jono Sollinger, Drew Woolery and Maury Hafermann. There are many more that were missed, but space and memory loss permit us from listing everyone!
Well, that's all for this inaugural column from your humble new co-secretaries. We look forward to hearing from each of you and bringing you the best column possible over the next half decade!
