You may recall that our class voted last fall to again sponsor the Henry Perley Eagle Class of 1943 Internship for the Native American Program at Dartmouth. The intern selected for this year is Christina Pego '98, who spent this summer working with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Native American communities in Oklahoma. Christina will report her experiences at our mini-reunion this September.

Most competently arranged and presided over by Chan and Amy Stevens, the annual luncheon of true Cape Codders and some others was held June 22 in Brewster. Attending, in reverse order of birthdate, were Andy Caffrey, Farmer and Jan Mead, Bob and Jean Grant, Pres and Ellen Brooks, Harry Gustafson, Kent and Rachel Lane, Don and Louise McCorkindale, Ray McMahon, Bing and Anne Donaldson, and Paul and Betsy Randall.

A good and encouraging letter from Charlie Cusack advises that he and Barbara enjoyed a most pleasant visit with Lee and Peggy Anderson in Seattle in June. Lee retired as legal counsel for Safeco; he and Peggy enjoy their home overlooking Lake Washington and are fortunate that their three daughters and son, plus eight grandchildren, all live in the Puget Sound area. Peggy hails from a Dartmouth family that includes Art Pounds '45 and Lewis Pounds '48.

Charlie notes that the Cusacks have moved from Sunriver to nearby Bend, and the address is 20434 Steamboat Court, Bend, OR 97702; (503) 389-9966. The Andersons and all other '43 s who may find themselves in the area are cordially invited to call.

My wife, Betsy, celebrated the 50th reunion of her class at the University of New Hampshire in June. While in Durham I spoke with Ted Miller, who retired from his professorial career atUNH a few years ago. Ted told me he enjoys his home in Durham, but particularly enjoys traveling to and about England, which he does frequently. He finds time also to devote to the research library at Strawberry Banke, a historic Colonial-era restoration in Portsmouth, N.H.

It may not be too late! Bob Field has advised plans are in place for our fall minireunion to be held the weekend of the Cornell Game, September 29 and 30.

Remember, moderation in all thingsexcept writing to me.
