Then spring explodes an early April bright day. No melting snow piles. No puddles. The grass is green in Hanover and red, red robins parading 'round; crocus blooming.
While snowbirds in the South, Southwest, California, and residents elsewhere pack for summer in New England, let's all think about west-wind sailing from Boston "down to Maine." Ross Martindale is back home in Yarmouth after spending the summer on nearby Chebeague Island where his son runs the Nellie G Restaurant, named for a boat. Frequently, Hilly and Bill Niss, Dede Foster and Ross gather together.
To be near her daughter, PhyllisEngland has moved to Massachusetts from West Lebanon. Selling his house, BradChase has moved to Park Danforth, a comfortable, worry-free residence.
Ann Hopkins Spahr, daughter of President and Mrs. Ernest Martin Hopkins, died in McLean, Va She was Queen of the Snows at our senior year Winter Carnival.
After growing up in Hanover, she majored in drama at Smith College and was active in alumnae affairs. Survivors are four children, five step-children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Josephine (she does the typing) andBill Frick write that after 50 years of married life they "are happy to have arrived at this point in good health." Retired 15 years, they live in Western Pennsylvania (inside Allegheny National Forest) with hunting, fishing, and winter sports "outside their front door," do quite a bit of volunteer work, keep busy.
After summering in Vermont, Virginiaand Lou Benezet are again home in Mill Valley, Calif. Lou has recovered well from an operation last year.
