Jack Burnett keeps "pretty busy as editor of a ham radio magazine for one publisher and a children's science magazine for another. I also write a weekly column for a newspaper in England on life in America. October 1 will see the debut of my company, Burnett Associates. Diane and I will be importing very specialized high-end subwoofer amplifiers from Germany and reselling via mail order and Internet. Last year I dropped in on Garrett Orazem, for a quick visit—we had met for the first time at the 25th Reunion."

Dave Reingold is in his "fourth year as chair of the chemistry department at Juniata College. I am also entering a second year as chair-elect (leading to two years as chair) of the chemistry division of the Council on Undergraduate Research, a national organization of scientists at undergraduate colleges."

Nels Armstrong reminds all that "his door is still open to classmates looking for a good vacation spot or just passing through. I had the good fortune of spending a bit of time with Peter Pratt at the College's Minary Center on Squam Lake. A member of the club officers executive committee, Peter was there supposedly to work. The weather was so beautiful, however, that it was hard to call what happened there work. Allen Evans and Henry Jordan decided to visit Hanover after being away for many years. Each is living in Chicago, doing well, and looking pretty good for old guys. The three of us had a grand time laughing and remembering the good old days. "Allen is teaching and doing educational consulting in Chicago, while Henry has become quite the artist. His paintings are indeed superb! William Kennedy, Tom McGuane, and Mike Furey were all on campus in August as part of the Dartmouth Lawyers Association conference. Our own Mr. Kennedy has served for the past year as the association president with another year left at the helm. (By the way, you guys should see the cars he continues to drive up here! Wow!) Finally, Tom Price called to chat and told me that Frank Watkins and family have moved from Seattle to New York. Welcome back to the East, Frank! Report in and tell us what you are doing."

Colby Morgan "has recently received the coveted Federal Express Five Star Award, having been senior litigation counsel for Federal Express Corp. for the past five years. I was previously senior litigation counsel for Holiday Inns Inc. Before I entered the corporate legal world, I was a private practitioner in New York and Tennessee. My son Shannon will attend Transylvania University in two weeks. It is almost as old (1780) as Dartmouth. I have two more prospective Dartmouth children."

I got a message from this guy signed only , which, after some major sleuthing (he gave away his location in his note), I concluded was Joe N. Jarrett, M.D.! Says Joe: "Barry Brink came down to Myrtle Beach this spring to play a bit of golf with me. He is doing fine and his golf game is really coming around. He has not conquered the psychological aspect of the game as well as the physical aspect. I find this interesting since he is a practicing psychologist. My advice to him was, 'Come on, Barry, don't keep those bad feelings festering up inside you—see how far you can throw that club!' "

Don Sweeney's daughter Julie '93 married Kevin Rogers '95 in June. "The wedding was a blast, with a huge contingent of Dartmouth people contributing mightily to what was an absolutely awesome party!"

Best to you all,
