There are few sights more lonely than an empty mailbag and a vacant e-mail folder. Understand my melancholy and take responsibility for your collective malaise! My life need not be filled with such sorrow, such despair.

Josh Bers sent in some clarification to add to my terse announcement of his marriage. "For the record, Chris, this past January I was married to Marina Umaschi in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Fellow '93ers David Cramer and Owen Donnelley and friend Steven Gordon made the long journey to attend our wedding. Being insatiable rowers we took out a three-man boat on the local canals, alternating two coxing and three rowing. Marina and I are now living in Cambridge, near Central Square. Marina just started a Ph.D. program in media arts and sciences at MIT. I am developing speech- and language-based interfaces to on-line databases and applications at GTE-Internetworking (formerly, BBN)."

During his vacation last summer, TomKilleen completed a triathlon of his own invention. Tom ran across Great Britain (Cardiff to Dover), swam the English Channel to Pas-de-Calais, and then hiked to Paris to catch the conclusion of the Tour de France. "By the time I reached the Arc de Triomphe I felt as though I could have won the tour."

Plan now to be in Hanover Friday, June 19, to Sunday, June 21, for our big 5th Reunion.

Write to me, soon.
