As you read this, it is less than three months until our 40th Reunion. The dates are June 9th-12 th. For those of you who prefer to plan on a shortterm basis, there is still time to join classmates and friends in Hanover and enjoy a wonderful combination of events.
For those of you who have already signed up, which at this writing is over 100 classmates sure and another 80 "maybes" and somewhere upwards of 300 people with 38 committed to the Moosilauke weekend hike, the anticipation is growing and thoughts of Hanover in the sweet, early summer are making us READY. Call Mike Tompkins at 1-800-526-9583, x 5821 to sign up or ask any questions.
Want to come in your RV? There are plenty of hookups at Storrs Pond, I understand. And that would sound like just one more way to enjoy the reunion experience. I've also been thinking of activities of particular interest for the women of our class. Our sports organizer, Bob Shirley, describes his plan for the golf tournament as "gender neutral" and we are also planning on mixed doubles tennis for all who would like to join.
Happy Griffiths will be glad to lead a tour of the Shaker Village herb gardens, extensive and unique. St. Gaudens, worldfamous sculpture garden, is just down the road and is a fascinating opportunity to learn of that great American sculptor. Billand Ann Edgerton's wine-tasting extravaganza and educational tour de force will be fun for all and there is the special village of Woodstock, Vt., to be visited for shopping and touring, the newly rediscovered John Hay home and gardens in South Newbury, N.H., and a whole list of college-sponsored cultural activities.
Dan Goggin is doing his usual, highly professional and thoughtful job as Reunion chair. We can look forward to an abundance of stimulating activities or just time to enjoy the fresh breath of summer in New Hampshire with old friends in old, familiar territory. See you all there.
