Pierre Chamois, the first 17th century Huguenot ancester of the Shumways to come to America, can rest peacefully in his grave, for the unbroken line of Peter Shumways is to continue. On Thursday morning, February 5, Mrs. Carl E. Shumway of the Crystal Apartments presented the Shumway family with a husky little boy at the Cambridge Hospital. As Mr. Shumway says the first thing he heard him say was "Wah," he is sure that he will join the Wah-Hoo-Wahs of Dartmouth, like his father. Little Peter is being measured for his first pair of skis, as he is a heavy favorite to capture first prize in the ski dash for boys under one week old at the Bear Hill Winter Carnival on February 7, the newspaper item says. But as Peter was detained, due to a previous engagement, his father went in the men's ski crosscountry race and romped home an easy winner. Peter has the cup to chew on. Both Mrs. Shumway and Peter are getting along finely, although the doctor had a hard time pulling Carl through, as he lost all his vest buttons upon learning the news. Needless to say, this is Carl's first.

The February class dinner and business meeting in New York was attended by Macdonald, Catterall, Alden, Dessau, Towler, Wells, Stoddard, Meleney, Riley, Stoughton, Parker, Ray Ball, and John Remsen. It was voted to hold a big class party at Jack Alden's gym on March 21, and announcements have since been received. It will be the first annual get-together at the gymnasium of the Columbia Grammar Schoolbridge, handball, swimming, and dinner and entertainment—afternoon and evening.
