As promised, this article begins with the remainder of Kate Zubritsky's "friend updates" from her last letter. Neil Doshi is still at Citicorp in New York, and enjoying his job despite the long hours. Krista Ingrahm is at Harvard working on a project which she began at the University of Hawaii. Melissa Leaver is in New Hampshire working for the VA and for Dartmouth. Tyler Young is in San Francisco, and Kate has not quite determined what he is doing there, but maybe he'll write and tell us. Ann Ojemann is in med school but Kate is unsure where, so Ann can write to us, too. Dan Poulta is teaching in Alaska, but Kate has not seen him since she lived there. As a matter of fact, Kate has lived in six states since graduation Vermont, Hawaii, Maryland, Alabama, Florida, and Colorado, so chances are, you may have seen Kate and not even known it. But now on to other restless travelers from our class. Jenny Groven sent me a little card to say that "in the beginning of October, I decided to leave everything behind and move to Arizona." Jenny was working for a magazine publisher in Minnesota and decided to abandon the slim promotional opportunities and head south. "I don't know if I'll ever move north again," writes Jenny, "though I do get homesick for New England and Dartmouth."Jennymoved down therewith Andy, a sort-of HTH. She and Andy graduated high school together, never knew each other, but met when they both came home to Minnesota after college and the rest, as they say, is history. Well, almost. Jenny writes, "This will be an interesting twist to your column we ARE NOT planning to get married anytime soon!" Jenny is looking for publishing jobs and is probably baking in the Arizona sun right now, while I am wondering whether or not I can brave the day without long underwear. But that's a whole different story. Beth Covitt wrote to me from Miami Beach, where she was spending New Year's Eve in the sun (away from her home in Ann Arbor) with newlyweds Heidi Kern and Eric Schwartz '91, who were married this past August in Freeport, Maine, and are now "happily ensconced in a pink and green art deco apartment in historic Miami Beach." Heidi is pursuing a Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Miami, and Eric is doing his residency in radiology. Among the other '94s at their wedding this summer were Tori Knox, Kim Whalen, Kristin Grosser, and Andrea (Fiorentino) Liebross.

Harley McAllister took pity on my plea for mail and wrote in from San Jose, Calif., where he works with AMP Inc.,as a fiber optic product specialist, which from his description seems to entail being a liaison for...just about everyone. Anyway, he writes that, "after finishing my B.E., winter of '95, I traveled a little bit on my way back to California, then went to Kremmling, Colo., and worked on a guest ranch as a wrangler for four months in the summer." While Harley was there taking care of a herd of 60 horses, he managed to fall in love with a young cowgirl from Colorado who he has been with ever since. "I also started riding in rodeos when I was there, at first competing in bareback bronc riding, but having since switched to saddle bronc riding." Harley has also since joined the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. "I have only been on about eight head of roughstock so far, and have dealt with two concussions, a sprained knee, and a broken wrist. It is a tough learning process, but it is an absolute blast, and I've always wanted to be a cowboy." Now, what was that thing about fiber optics again? I don't think anything could possibly follow Harley's letter, so the rest of you city slickers who wrote in will be in next month's news. And, everyone else, please write to me. Please.
