Jennifer (Jenna) Budgett Islas writes that her husband Julian graduated in May and is now certified to teach in public schools in the United States. They have two children, Chloe 7 and Isaac 5. Jenna has been working at a county women's health clinic for over five years and is a "labor coach" (not a midwife, which we erroneously printed in a previous column our apologies!), and she and her family are very active in their community in the canal area of San Rafael, Calif. Jenna adds expressly, "We would like to thank all of the Dartmouth people who helped us so much! You know who you are. Please write to us at or Islas Family, 339 Bahia Lane, San Rafael, CA 94901."

Kate Olsen has been in tie Boston area since receiving a master's in social work from Smith in 1994. She works with adolescent boys in the Department of Youth Services and has been there for nearly three years. Kate recently bought a house with her partner, Emily Randall, in Cambridge, where they live with their four cats. Kate writes, "I'd like to send a hello to all, especially to those former members of DAGLO and Phi Psi."

"One very pleased papa," John Goyette '6O sent me a lovely note and newspaper clipping about his '90 daughter. In May, Tracey Goyette Cote graduated first in her class from the University of Maryland Law School in Baltimore, where she may be the first to finish with a 3.98 grade point average. (Holy cow, Tracey. The closest I've come to that number lately is when paying for a Starbucks Frappuccino.) After graduating from Dartmouth, Tracey worked for several years as a fundraiser in Vermont before applying to law school, where she majored in the corporate and tax law fields. Tracey will spend this year working as a judicial clerk for the Fourth Court of Appeals in Baltimore. Next year, she will join the law firm of McGuire, Woods, Battle and Boothe in Charlottesville, Va.

Kyle Blood left his advertising agency in N.Y.C. last October. After participating in an entrepreneurial venture in the city, Kyle landed a temp job as Martha Stewart's assistant. A mere two weeks of Kyle's parttime work convinced Martha that he was her man, and now Kyle is the assistant managing editor of books in the Martha Stewart Living empire. His "The Best of Martha Stewart Living" book series is under way, and he has completed the first one, Christmas with Martha Stewart Living. (For the next one, covering Great Parties, Kyle draws directly from his undergraduate experience as Sigma Nu social chair, the title which apparently cinched the job with Martha.)

Jeff Durso-Finley writes that he and Dan Hanifan were the two '9os in attendance at Greg McGowan's wedding to Kelly Dacia in Memphis earlier this year. According to Jeff, "Greg tried to get by with a stealth wedding and not 'put any pressure' on other Dartmouth types to make the trip to Tennessee, but like good Lodge Boys once we found out about it we went anyway." Greg and company arranged a combined wedding celebration and going-away party a few weeks later in Connecticut with a large '90 contingent including Dan, Greg Dorr, Jim Murphy, Paul Simpson, Dan Offit, Pete Dammann, Scott Whelehan, Marc Curnin, and a host of Dartmouth significant others. Jeff adds, "I know I'll take flak for not remembering the female Dartmouth crew in attendance, but I wouldn't be able to come up with them all, so I'll leave that responsibility to another person's contribution to Class Notes." Following the festivities, Greg jetted off to his new post as head of Sports International Bilkent in Ankara, Turkey, where he and Kelly will live for the next four or five years.

Jeff is assistant director of admission at Brown, where his wife, Gianna, is now a sociology professor. They and their "two little guys" will likely remain in Rhode Island for a while. Jeff welcomes e-mail correspondence and "heckling for the male-centered memory" at .
