Imagine this set. "The Four Seasons," followed by the Spice Girls and "Dartmouth Undying. " At a Dodecaphonics concert, such a series isn't extraordinary. Performing at social gatherings, reunions, alumni clubs, shows, and at a sing-out each spring in front of Dartmouth Hall, the College's lone coed a cappella group makes unlikely transitions seem intuitive. In the regional portion of the National Championship of College A Cappella, the group recently won awards for the Best Soloist (Simon Tang '97 for "The Water is Wide") and Best Arrangement (a U2 medley). The group can also boast gender parity: eight males and eight females. Since their creation in 1984, the group has mastered the art of having fun while singing, and it shows. If you haven't heard the Dodecs in a while, now's your chance to order one of their dodecanniversary CDs. (They were a hit among reuning classes this summer).
