This is the first summer we have ever spent in this Hanover area. Not at all a bad place to be. There is always something going on at Dartmouth with summer semester students on campus. The Green, on sunny days, is covered with them. Communities around offer a variety of entertainment. There is also the 16th Annual Apple Circus appearance in town. The founder of the circus, Paul Binder, is D' 63. New eating places are added at a fast pace.
As usual we are very short on news of classmates. However, Harris Huston wrote that wire and glue seem to be holding him together. He tells of a friend who woke up one morning recently amazed to feel no pain or anything hurting. Figuring he had died, he rolled over and went back to sleep.
Charlie Dudley, along with the Alumni Relations Office, have started the ball rolling for our 70th Reunion next summer, so please start thinking positive thoughts about a return trip to Hanover in 1999. Remember, this includes widows. Better come before we will all be faced with the horror stories of computer glitches in 2000.
'Til next time, Rip adds: "Why is it those who seem so bright So often have the shortest sight?"
