Our class has lost another distinguished member. Dr. Jerome "Jerry" Harris died at his home in Durham, North Carolina, in January. After his medical degree at Harvard, he served his internship at the University of Chicago clinics, his residency in pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital and for the remainder of his career nobly served Duke University. He leaves his wife, Jacqueline, fellow professor at Duke. We extend her our condolences.
Rip was recently asked to make some remarks to Dartmouth seniors at the deans dinner. The subject, "Dartmouth When I Was a Student And Now." So much to cover, too little time!
He adds his verse: Do you remember Edgar Guest Whose daily rimes and faultless rhythms Sprang to his pen at his behest He seemed to have no trouble with em.
What I would like to know today: How did he find so much to say?
