Hello, everyone! I was delighted to take on the job of writing these monthly Class Notes for the next five years. Chris Onken deserves many thanks tor five outstanding years as our first class secretary. He provided us with many memorable accounts of our classmates as we roamed the girdled earth after graduation. I promise to try to continue Chris's penchant for words and wit in imparting the class news. Thanks for a Great job, Chris.

Before I get to the substance of this month s column, I must make my first plea for class news. Please, please send me news about yourself and others from our class with whom you are in contact. You don't have to have anything earth shattering to report. Just keep me stocked with plenty of information to spin in these monthly columns. The quickest way to send news is via e-mail at or you can write to me via snail mail at the address below.

For those of you who attended the Fifth Reunion this June, I'm sure you will join me in declaring it a smashing success! Mary Beth Keiller and her committee deserve our thanks for such a well-planned weekend. I ran into loads of familiar faces and had a great time catching up with old friends. Although I couldn't begin to report on everyone I saw at the reunion, one person stands out in my mind as having an exciting new job ahead of him. Mike Scodro will be roaming the halls of the United States Supreme Court as a law clerk to Justice Sandra Day O'Connor this year. I hope Mike will send me a note and let us know the skinny on The Supremes.

Did you know that one of our illustrious classmates has taken advantage of the Internet and become a successful entrepreneur? Yep, Jennifer Floren started her own company called Ivy Productions, an online career development tool. You can check out her website at . A profile of Jennifer and her new company appeared in the July 13, 1998, issue of the Boston Herald.

Of course a Class Notes column would not be complete without at least one engagement announcement. Our former class president, Doug Chia, proposed to his law school sweetheart, Jessica Chun (Penn. '94), this spring at a chic restaurant in Washington, D.C. Doug had the entire wait staff involved in his elaborate scheme to surprise her. It obviously worked because the two are planning an April 1999 wedding in Philadelphia, Pa.

Finally, I'd like to put in a plug for the class of '93 website. If you haven't already, please be sure to check it out at chttp://www.dartmouth.edu/alumni/classes/93>. Rich Yeung has been updating it regularly, and you can find everything from the latest class newsletter to pictures of classmates. Feel free to give Rich your feedback, and send him your contributions to the site. Well, if you thought this column seemed a little sparse on the class news, then what are you waiting for? Send me some news! I look forward to hearing from all of you. Happy Turkey Day!
