First off, I want to apologize to the families of Jack Graham,Walt Halfman Fritz Martin, Marty King, and Em Marsteller for the delay in the appearance of their obituaries in the AlumniMagazine. Their obituaries appeared in the January issue.
Had a nice chat with Jack Slattery...Fran Reilly and Lucille, making their annual trip to California, visited with Bob and PhyllisPollack. "Slats" and Barb are living in Oakmont a retirement community in Santa Rosa, Calif. Their cottage is a step away from the 18th green! Slats has his golf cart in his garage so you now know what he does in his spare time!
I goofed...Bob and Mary Ross have moved to a retirement community in New Hampshire and not in Maine as I reported earlier. Their new address is 143 Rivermead Road, Peterborough, NH 03454, with a telephone number of (603) 924-6378.
Received word that Bill Watson had a stroke recently and is in a nursing home.
Bud Walls is now living Fulltime in Bonita Springs, Fla., and is unable to do much traveling.
Received a note from Hal Sprague's wife, Betty, saying that his physical condition (dementia, Alzheimer's) prohibits their joining us this June. Their daughter, Sandra S. Kinsey hired our '38 scholarship student, Nii Sai Sai '97, at Price Waterhouse in Tampa. She, as well as Nii, was thrilled to think her dad's class sponsored him for two years. It really is a small world!
Pat Gorman wrote along with his "Yes" reply that he and Mary Louise will be traveling to Evanston Ill., the day after our 60th for her 50th at Northwestern..."We've done a lot of traveling, but met no Dartmouth folk on our travels most recent an Elderhostel trip to Mexico's Copper Canyon followed by a week's birding in Sadona Ariz. We are still avid skiers and are all signed up for a two-week caper in Austria. Life has been kind and we are both rather fit. With six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, we have to be ready for anything."
