A post card from Danny Marshall, inquiring about Jack Russell's death, tells the following: 'Am in an assisted' living residence feeling fine—diligently exercising and working with a therapist! First goal is to walk without aid—stroke recovery is exceedingly slow—like watching paint dry." Hang in there, Danny! His address is 8307 Gault Lane, Apt. #107, San Antonio, TX78209-7300;(210) 822-4134.This reminds me that Ben Walkley is well down the recovery road from a recent stroke.
My thanks to Ash Lans for his in-depth obituaries in the recent Pacesetter on four of our classmates. Unfortunately I am limited to the number of words for the obituaries, which appear in the Alumni Magazine.
Now a word from my "keeper," who has wanted to say something for a long time!
"How fast the time goes by...20-plus years ago, I had the pleasure of going to my first reunion at Dartmouth College. It was at that time I was honored to have the Amazing Class of 1938 offered to me as my extended family...l humbly and graciously embraced my new family.
"I am taking this moment to let all of my extended family' know how very close the class of 1938 is to me—once an outsider! I wanted classmates, wives and others to know how much I appreciate your kindness over these past 20-plus years.
"During the time, up to and including the present, I have met some of the most incredibly remarkable individuals I have had the pleasure of of meeting in my'young' life. It is with profound sadness that some of my closest of 'family members' have gone on to another life.. .one that will only profile and enhance the lives they held while with us. Although I only knew them for a short period of time, the time I spent with them was quality time...and I have and shall miss them terribly-they, and you, are truly the 'gentle' Men of Dartmouth."
From our "leader"—I couldn't have said it better!!! Think Reunion!
