Make note of the dates January 29-31, 1999. There will be another Florida mirri-reunion this winter and it will be at the same place, the Marriott Indian River Plantation in Stuart (about 45 minutes north of Palm Beach). Bob Mcllwaiti called me and said he had given in to the presagain." of many attendees and agreed "to do it again." From all accounts, last winter's one was a super success, with 80 classmates and spouses/companions attending. Everybody I talked to who was there couldn't say enough about what a great time they had had. I predict that there'll be at least twice as many people at this next winter Florida mini. If you haven't already, you will be getting more particulars from Bob via the 5ifty newsletter or other mailings.

The fall mini in Hanover this year will be on October 16-18, the weekend of the Yale game. The foliage should still be glorious, the weather is always good, and the usual good time will be had. Plan to come on up, y'all!

As for other news: Kate is expecting her third child in October. The boys, Joseph and Jack, are hoping for a baby sister. Jack's ear problem has been corrected with a drain and he is doing fine.

The twins, Andy's kids Erika and Elizabeth, are looking forward to their summer in Falmouth on the Cape in the new house their parents just bought. Their cousin Jill will be with them for the month of July, and they always have a ball together. Jill graduates to the middle school this year, and she's looking forward to it. She's a wonderful student as well as a great baseball and soccer player, and she is becoming an accomplished horseback rider. Brother Mike seems to be coping with becoming a teenager and is now my Man Friday in helping with the household and garden chores around here.

Eric is not only an avid sports fan and collector of cards, but he's becoming quite a ballplayer in his own right. Father Peter coaches his Little League club and the two of them really impress me. Sister Victoria is into dancing and hassling her older brother.

Ben, Jay's son, is in Minneapolis and is also growing up fast. We wish we could see more of him.

That's just a thumbnail of what's going on with my grandkids. Drop me a line or e-mail me the news of yours, and maybe we can fill another column next month.
