I am glad that Bill Hall still saw the May issue with his toytrading mentioned above our column. I had some clippings to send him when note of his death on June 23 came. Bill phoned me in August 1989 after the S.F. earthquake to check on our safety. I have his The Halls of Yarmouth, based on his ancestors' history, at the Connecticut Historical Library. He traced back to John Hall, 1611-1696, who landed in Boston from Coventry in 1630. In 1673 the Halls erected a water mill on Herring River. Bill's chronology shows it in 1906, David Hall's church in Sutton, Mass., and three gravestones in the Hall Cemetery at Dennis. We share your grief, Susan, the daughter who cared for him. Lou Benezet called on June 30 that his Ginny had died. She had been taking oxygen for years. Her son just returned from Germany. He visited regularly from U.C. Santa Cruz, making music for her. There comes a time when it is a blessing to go sans farther agony for all. The sadness and memories remain, and we share them.

John Donald MacNeary died at home in West Caldwell, N.J., on Feb. 23, 1999. Wife Doris and sons Brian '67 and John. Please send further information.
