Bob Brown of Wilmington, Del., writes, "With a grandson's wedding in June, four of my eight grandchildren are now married, with my youngest granddaughter scheduled to join the 'married group' next spring. Have two great-grandchildren aged 6 and 9, with another due in December. Have not sighted any classmates since the 50th Reunion. Our travels have included a ski trip to Austria and Italy, plus my regular trip to Stowe and one to Vail. Recent trips included a wedding in Idaho with mountain climbing at Sun Valley and five days at Squam Lake, N.H., including mountain climbing there."
Charlie Hitchock called and we chatted...I found that he and Jean are enjoying their new life in Hanover, especially because of the nearness of the golf course. He sees Earl Ward and Bill Mosenthal occasionally. Reporting on the "job climate" in Hanover, Charlie says that even with an unemployment rate of less than I percent, job seekers are rare because of the living expenses in the area.
I also heard from Ellie Herrick, DickHolt, Gil Small and Jim Golden—but uncovered no news except the good news that they are in good health and enjoying life. I also learned that Claire and BobReeves had to shorten their recent trip abroad because they were hospitalized in Norway with pneumonia for four days. Upon discharge, they returned to Hanover. Bob Chittim '3O wrote telling me of the death of Bob Derry in Sarasota,Fla., and also that Dick Stoughton is recovering from a stroke he had some time ago and is in rehabilitation for speech therapy.
Marge and Jack Karr are, according to Jack, at that questionable state in life and thankful to meet the next day. As you read this, Jack will have undergone successful prostate surgery.
I called Frank Cannell to learn more about the death of Bob Bott, his roommate for four years, but he did not have the information necessary. "Mary and I moved to Colorado in 1951. We kept in contact with Bob until 1962 and then just gradually drifted apart." They both enjoy life out west and talk with Sandy Mills occasionally.
