Thirty-one days and couning... have you updated, upgraded, and replaced all uninsured, non-compliant, and totally-immune-to-the-Y2K-bug "ware"?

If you've ever had any questions about the independent counsel law hoopla, FredAnsell is the man to talk to. This past year he was lead chief counsel for the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee, and "lead staffer" on the hearings that helped set the boundaries for the debate over whether the law should be rewritten or allowed to die. His point of view? You'll have to ask Fred...

News has made it my way from Fredericksburg, Va., that StephenFarnsworth was one of three professors to receive top honors from Mary Washington College at commencement ceremonies last spring. After ten years as a journalist, Stephen joined the faculty in 1995 as an assistant professor of political science and international affairs, with particular interest in mass media and politics.

Lisa Feinberg Densmore sends her latest: "My big news is that my first book, SkiFaster, was released by Ragged Mountain Press, a division of McGraw-Hill. It is an instructional book that translates technique used in the World Cup into language and applications for all skiers." Depending on when this issue hits your doorstep, you may still be able to catch Lisa at the Dartmouth Princeton football game on Nov. 20, at the Dartmouth Bookstore, where she'll be doing a book signing.

From N.Y.C., Robin Henning Rocchi recently announced, "It's a boy!" She also has a 2-year-old daughter, Catherine. Robin is working as director of domestic finance at General Motors, handling all the markets activities for the company. Speaking of boys, I was so happy to catch up with Dave and Liz Grubman, and son Noah for what I now refer to as the "naked lunch" at our place in N.H. (All of you with children maturing through their second year must have experienced the ever-popular naked dining, yes?) Dave and Liz are enjoying life and work in N.Y.C., and taking every opportunity they can to get out and cruise the Hudson.

Julie Keegan Reed also blew through N.H. en route from Toronto for a visit in Massachusetts this summer. (No naked lunch with her two kids, 11 and 9, and growing like weeds!) Julie juggles responsibilities between spearheading the development of your next pervasive software, and playing soccer Mom, hockey Mom, dance Mom...

It's probably about time I mention my far too infrequently seen neighbor, Gail Hegarty Williams. With both boys in school all day, Gail is being lured back to daytime work as a teacher's assistant. She and family are reportedly happy and healthy.

Til next time—may you all have a happy holiday season!
