Alongwith many of the southeastern states this spring, I've been experiencing a bit of a drought—a lack of news from you all. One welcome break in this drought was an e-mail from Brad Holmes. His update includes Helen, 6, and Lucy, 5, who are making new friends in Newton, Massachusetts. Brad and family moved in November, after five great years in Minnesota. (Who knew other than half the hockey team that Minneapolis was such a great place?) Brad writes, "In '99 I left my comfortable job at United Health Group to launch a dot.com that built online drugstores for healthcare companies. It was a fun year and a half, but no cigar. I did take advantage of the demise, however, and spent last summer exploring the upper Midwest with the family, discovering in the deep Minnesota woods that bugs can and do eat small animals, that fishing is fun when they are biting and that I would take more time off over any other perk, hands down. I am now at Forrester Research, parlaying my industry insights into a writing and advising gig. Another seat at the great health care roundtable: Dr. Sean Wolfort, now cutting in Nashville at Vanderbilt, where he is a professor of plastics and reconstructive, got married this fall to Tammy, a wonderful influence on our whirling dervish friend. The Dartmouth picture was small but oozed enthusiasm!"

Now, left to my own devices...l turn to the Web. Hmmm, plugging a few names into search engines, I find some interesting, if useless, information. Joanne Taplin. Did you know that Taplin is the 15,975 th most popular last name in the United States? Carey Wilson. My search turned up a daunting 2,498,770 pages. I opted for a site I found in the first 20, Fox ports.com—Carey Wilsons Player Page. Sorry for the dust, this page is under construction. Let's see now, Kevin Lane, designer of a diaper assembly process, professional bassist, assistant professor. Here's one that may be our classmate, at Kevin Lanes RV-6A "Travelin' Machine." Kevin has flown his RV-6A across the country numerous times, and periodically sends the author photos to drool over. An RV-6A seems to be a very small plane, and this particular one has recently flown all around Oregon, to St. Helens, Washington, Mt. Rainier and the Great Sand Dunes National Monument.

And on that note, I've gotta fly. Do send news.
