Sey Ochsner's column for the 1938 Dartmouth Medical School News & Notes (fall '98) tells about the Journal ofAmerican Medical Association article titled "A Legacy of the General Practice," featuring the career of our classmate Eugene McGregor, who came from Lisbon, N.H., and practiced there for his entire medical career. McGregor paying tribute to his wife, Phyllis, a nurse, said, "Any general practice physician who doesn't have a nurse for a wife is crazy as hell." He said, "I made house calls all my life; I think that's the way medicine should be practiced. A doctor should be able to see people in their homes, to see what their hygiene is like, to look in the refrigerator. "I'm sure classmate Koop would agree. Congratulations, Eugene, on a fruitful career in medicine in Lisbon, N.H.

John Emerson writes about attending the 60th wedding celebration of Olive and Joe Tardiff in Exeter, N.H. John said it was a joyous occasion with about 100 people attending including sisters, brothers, spouses, children, grandchildren, and a few great-grandchildren. Joe and John reminisced about living at Ma Smalley's with Herb Bottier and four from '38. He added the great football teams had their meals downstairs.

A't the Oct. 3, 1998, class meeting we voted, on the recommendation of FranFenn, to set our 1999 Alumni Fund goal at $85,000 and 75 percent participation.

The 1999 mini-reunion dates are Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24 and 25. President Charlie has a confirmation from the Hanover Inn for the 1937 fall reunion dinners in the Wheelock Room and Hayward Lounge. The classmates were pleased with those sites this year, and it is good to know we will be there again next September. More class meeting news. We voted to authorize $1,000 to be spent on the art poster program for Collis Center. The program was explained at the meeting by Mark Hoffman, director of the Collis Center and student activities.

After many years, it was good to see Kim Hall at the mini.

We regret to report the deaths of JoeKiernan, George Skinner, Bill Lyons,Robinson Keyes, and Gordon Wise.
