Suzy Nachman Mercado is a stay-at-home mother of two children, daughter Jamie, who was five years old in November, and son Kevin, who will be two years old in January. Last year her family moved from NYC to Fairfield, Conn., where she's been honing her tennis and golf games. Suzy, husband Dave, and the kids were featured in a segment on Primetime Live on ABC, which has aired twice this year, once in March and again in June. They were doing a show on hotel cleanliness, or lack thereof, and Suzy's was the family with young kids in tow. Suzy serves on the Dartmouth Club of Eastern Fairfield County, where she's a chairperson on the executive committee. She spent some time with Sarah Metzgar, who is currendy working as a press aide to the Senate majority leader of New York and living outside of Albany. John Graves writes, "With our townhouse on the verge of collapsing under the weight of mountains of toys, we moved to a house with a basement and large backyard to keep our kids Christopher (5 in October) and Megan (2) occupied." MaryFrances Spatola Sabo had some fun meeting up with Brian Moore, who is in his last year of medical school at UMass in Worcester and is applying for neurology residencies in the South, Richard Thorner, a partner at Wadleigh Starr, a law firm in Manchester, N.H., and also an amateur antiques dealer, and Greg Checani, a professor in anesthesiology at UMass in Worcester. MichaelMcTernan and his wife, Julia, had an 8 lb., 7 oz. baby boy named Finn Patrick on Sept. 10. Michael left Deutsche Bank in March and is now working at Lehman Brothers in N.Y., selling bonds and derivatives. His dream of becoming a high school history teacher seems to have this rolling five-year horizon. GinaCannon married Shawn Hacksaw on April 25,1998, and instandy became the mother of 11-year-old Heather and 6-year-old Tim. She has, for the most part, given up her private practice of divorce law in Concord, N.H., and is now in her second year (of three) at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge. Rob Popper has been named senior business development manager for L&H Heitmann, a large Euro-conglomerate of high-tech companies. His division designs and develops intranets and web sites; Rob handles the specifications and creative and technical development. At the same time, he trains and motivates the sales staff and account managers. Who's motivating Rob? Poor guy had a lousy summer and hopes the new position gets him to the United States more often as he's quite homesick. Send cookies fast! If you saw the November issue of Parenting Magazine, then you might have noticed a new toy line called just Pretend Toys founded by MichaelCollins. Just Pretend produces toys, dolls, books, and dress-up kits for children ages 212, selling only through catalog and the web. The company employs 17 people and recently received a second round of VC funds.
