The Young Alumni Committee of the Alumni Council is considering a National Dartmouth Community Service Week in alumni club locations tjhe week of June 19-27,1999. Prior to this week, alumni will identify regional projects that will benefit the community such as: lending expertise to students in the classroom or other settings in Hanover or on the phone as a resource; helping students gain entree into corporate or governmental organizations which might offer funding or internship opportunities; and rounding up housing for leave-term students in areas where they aren't being paid. The Young Alumni Committee hopes to work closely with regional alumni clubs and alumni classes in order to build as wide a network as possible. To make this program successful, the Alumni Council will need at least one person from each club, class, and student or alumni organization to participate.
