There is still time to sign up for our 30th Reunion this June 17-20. If you have misplaced the forms, contact me and they will be sent forthwith. We even accept walk-ons if you don't like to make longrange plans. Among the many activities during reunion will be two seminars that have been organized by Bill Stableford. Dave's newsletter will give you more details but here's a quick summary. The first seminar is scheduled for Friday June 18, from 10 a.m. to noon. It will be titled "Making the Most of Our Fifties: Successful Adjustment in Mid-life." Seminar #2 will be held on Saturday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It will be titled "Keeping Ourselves Intellectually Stimulated in Later Life: The Dartmouth Class of 1969 Institute." Bill wants everyone to know that the seminars are being designed to be highly participatory, and that they will be as appealing to wives as to classmates. Indeed, he plans to include wives as panel members. Anyone who has preliminary ideas or thoughts is more than welcome to contact Bill and to make contributions to either seminar. E-mail him at .
In other news, Charles Campbell has been re-elected as presiding judge of the Ventura County Superior Court, where he has served since 1992. As presiding judge he supervises the administrative business of the court and serves as liaison between the courts and other government civic agencies.
Movement on the corporate ladder finds two classmates on new rungs. JeffWeinress is now the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Exigent International. Jeff moves to Melbourne, Fla., from San Diego, where he served in a similar position for Avanir Pharmaceuticals. Exigent is a publicly traded holding company formed to capitalize on emerging hightech opportunities. Robert Beach has been elected vice president of the Shepherd Street Equity Fund, a new, no-load mutual fund managed by Salem Investment Counselors of Winston-Salem.
Sadly, I must report that a classmate passed away recently. John Penney Jr., neurologist in Boston, died on Jan. 31, 1999.
Take care and write.
