Many thanks to all you guys and gals who sent us Christmas cards—we appreciated them very much. In one of them Len Harrison, who is assisting Bill Wilson in our coming 65th Reunion, writes that his wife, Jean, is coming along as well as can be expected after two strokes. She is not able to talk or write but her spirits are good and she is getting wonderful T.L.C. in their Kendal health center. Keep up your good spirits Jean and I hope you'll be as good as new soon.
Another Christmas card from Mary and Bob Engelman showing 34 beautiful faces of family members who cover four generations including three great-grandchildren. They have been married for 60 years. We doubt if any couple can beat that but let's hear from you folks who can come anywhere near close. We have been married 62 years, cover four generations with three great-grandchildren but only 24 family members. Congratulations to Em Day on the fine job he is doing writing our class newsletter. Keep up the good work, Em! We received in today's mail an original The Dartmoutha pictorial supplement dated Friday, Feb. 9, 1934, sent to us by Bill Craig and among the many pictures was one of the 24th annual Winter Carnival committee and among the '34s was Em Day, just as 1 handsome as ever.
We planned to spend most of February at the Disney Resort in Vero Beach, Fla., and were there two days when we received a call that my wife's brother, Frank Cuzzi, had passed away, so home we came and couldn't have lunch with Anne Shea. Some of you '34s may have remembered Frank and his wife, Anita, as they attended one or two of our mini-reunions when Cornell (his college) played Dartmouth in football.
Sadly we report the deaths of Tom Beers, Dave Beasley, Bob Corwin, William Barnet II, Harry Wallace, William Starling, James Gifford Jr., and Charles Pyewell. Our sympathies are extended to their families.
