50th Reunion—June 9-11, 2000. Final plea: Get your bio sketch and photo into the mail to Joe Medlicott in the next couple of days. If you wait until the next millenium, it will be too late. The deadline is Dec. 31, because the 50th Reunion book will go to press soon after that for mailing to you in early spring.

A suggestion: Those planning to attend our 50th might contact former roommates, fraternity brothers and other friends, via holiday cards or otherwise, and urge them to attend. This could be your last chance to see one another.

Bob Herrick, '48 class secretary, points out that there is a lot of Dartmouth news readily available via the internet for those of us who are connected. (For those not yet addicted, get your grandkids to help you get into the '9os, before it is too late.) The College's web page is www.dartmouth.edu, The Daily Dartmouth's page is www.thedartmouth.com and The DartmouthReview's is www.dartreview.com. By the time you read this, I suspect we'll have a '50 class page up and running for Reunion and other news.

An article in the New London paper, sent to me by Townes Harris '47, told of the establishment of a Lake Watch program on Lake Sunapee, the first such program in New Hampshire. Cort Cross is the program coordinator. He and other volunteers work with the N.H. Department of Safety's marine patrol to help promote boating safety by patrolling lake waters in private boats bearing the "Lake Watch" banner.

Have you mailed in your class dues to treasurer Fizz Nichols? Added something extra for the Athletic Endowment Fund and/or Dickey Class Endowment Fund? A reminder to those few who don't pay their class dues: You are reading this and your subscription to the Dartmouth AlumniMagazine is being subsidized by the rest of your classmates. 'Nuff said.

Tom Buggies writes of John Knapp, a former roommate, who died in August, "Johnny was one of the premier piano players on campus and spent many a weekend soloing and playing with groups. After Dartmouth, he continued to make marvelous music, by piano, singing and arranging for several amateur groups. One was the Augmented Eight, which included Ort Hicks '49, and Johnny and I participated together in an annual Spring Sing." John's obituary appeared in the December issue of this magazine.

Enjoy the holidays and best wishes to all. Only six months to go...50th Reunion, June 9-11, 2000.
