Due to the exigencies of editing and printing schedules over the holidays, I'm writing this DAM column before Thanksgiving, and you won't read it until Washington's Birthday (if at all) So, too late to exhort you to come to the Florida mini-reunion and too early to report on the end of January happening.

The October mini in Hanover was a great success, as always. Wonderful fall weather, a fun Homecoming bonfire (with, it seemed, the entire student body attending), a joint get-together with '49, a win over Yale, dinner in Lyme, and Sunday brunch at Judy and Bill Cross's in Orford. Needless to say, the locals, led by mini-chairmen Len Matless and DaveTaylor, did their usual swell job of welcoming some 60 of us to Hanover.

Speaking of locals, Jill and JackHarned had just moved in, finally, to their newly constructed house in Norwich. I understand from those who've seen it that it's a gem on the top of a hill overlooking The Plain across the river.

The October executive committee meeting, attended by 25 and chaired by president Bob Wilkinson, was pretty much business-as-usual. The class treasury is in good shape, thanks to you dues payers and the good works of treasurer Fizz Nichols. The Alumni Fund bettered the class goal with $188,600, thanks to you donors, the class agents, and BobMcIlwain's able leadership. And planning and organizing for our Big 50th is well under way with Joel Leavitt leading the way.

As happens every two years, the key class officers changed. Bob Wilkinson, after a great job as president, moved up to chairman and passed the gavel to BobKilmarx, who will be our president, at the 50th Reunion. Bob McIlwain moves up to vice president and the new head class agent is Bud Gleason. Eric Miller (whom I had to protect in high school and freshman football, and I'm not sure I'd trust with my money) has agreed to become assistant head agent. You are still stuck with 5ifty Joe, Fizz, and me for, respectively (if not fully), newsletter editor, class treasurer, and secretary.

That's it. SEND ME NEWS.
