A few of our classmates have responded to my plea for news and sent me some updates. Yeah! I received some news about new babies. Scott Walker and his wife, Stephanie, wrote to announce the birth of their daughter, Hannah Nicole Walker. This is their first child and she was born October 18,1999.
Also, Christopher Broggi and his wife, Sharon (Silveira) Broggi '92 contacted me to announce the birth of their son, Dante Dallas Broggi. Dante was born on November 5, 1999, in Springfield, Mass. Congratulations to both families.
I also received news from Liz Bridges who is out in the Midwest. She says: "After two years of taking classes part-time and working at a foundation in Ann Arbor, Mich., I am finally an official first-year in the M.A./Ph.D. program in the department of anthropology at the University of Mich., with a concentration in archaeology." When she wrote me, Liz was taking classes and working as a research assistant in the ethnobotany laboratory of the university's Museum of Anthropology. She says that she "can't wait to get back into the field." In fact, she has already spent one season surveying in Mexico and two seasons digging the Southwest. This coming summer she will be heading out west as a teaching assistant for the Michigan Field School in Roswell, N.M. After that she is looking forward to another six or seven years getting her doctorate. Good luck, Liz. Watch out for the aliens.
As for the rest of you—I know you're thinking that the reunion is in a couple months and you'll catch up with people then. Don't give in to that mindset! Drop me a line so you won't have to waste precious time at the reunion playing "catch-up."
