Welcome back after a short summer recess. Hope you all enjoyed reunion in June. But just because you recently caught up with old friends does not mean you can leave me high and dry! Here's some news that I've been holding on to during the summer.
First, the new baby news. Michael Hauser and his wife, Julie, wrote to let me know of the birth of their new baby Yehudah Hauser. Michael says, "It feels great to be a daddy and I recommend it highly." In addition, he says that, after deciding to quit medical school, he is currently working on financial statement preparation with a CPA firm in Detroit, Michigan. Aviva (Bender) Siegal wrote to me to say that she and her husband, Dan, just had a baby girl in April. The new baby's name is Alison Beth. Thrilled with the baby but a little short on sleep, the couple is living in Denver, Colorado, where Dan is a gastroenterologist.
Next, some news from Rachel Wasserstrom who should be starting her second year at Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Apparently Rachel's class has its share of'95s, including Jon Shapiro, Susie Park, Jenny Fung, Chris Nelson, Andrea Wexler and Lauren Lieberman. Lissa Rosenthal and Jamie Parks were also at Wharton, in the class ahead of Rachel. Rachel said that in May she would be going to Cari Berlage and Andy Lodges wedding in Connecticut. Both Cari and Andy will be completing their M.B.A.s and relocating to N.Y.C. Rachel said that Lissa Trumbull and Debbie Rosenthal are both working in technology in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Claudia Ginsberg is working at N.Y. Hospital and Chris Foley continues with his double life as a N.Y. banker by day and comedian by night. Final news from Rachel concerns soon-to-be parents Geoffrey and Susan (LoCurto) Willison, who are expecting their first baby in September. I ran across a newspaper article about Debbie Healy and her sister Kara, who have become successful entrepreneurs baking homemade dog biscuits. Their dog biscuits, called Hi 5 Biscuits, are a big hit in supermar kets throughout New England. This recipe is one the two sisters created on their own, seeing a market for healthy and preservative-free treats for pets. In the beginning, Debbie and Kara were baking the biscuits in their basement and now, the biscuits are being baked at facilities on the South Shore of Massachusetts. (Seestory story on page 69.) Congratulations! Finally, news from the West Coast. Chris Ferry wrote to me to say that he has graduated with a master's in fine arts from the American Conservatory Theater (ACT). He was going to be performing in ACT's mainstage production of Edward II, which would be his official debut! Chris told me that Kevin Lapin would be arriving in San Francisco to attend a summer acting program at ACT.
This leads me to my own news: I'm living in San Francisco now. So, make note of my new street and e-mail address. If you sent me news to my old e-mail after July 25,1 apologize that it's either lost in cyberspace or has been returned. Please send it again! See you next month.
