Babies abound from our classmates these days. How many of you are freaked out by that comment? Well, it's true. Jon '93 and Karen (Rieper)Fidelak excitedly report the birth of their baby girl Mackenzie Anne Fidelak on November 15, 1999. "She was 9 pounds, 2 ounces, and 22 inches long! That's a pretty big baby!" Yes, yes it is. "It's all pretty amazing," writes Karen. Congratulations to you, Karen and Jon! The Fidelak family lives in Colorado—in the mountains west of Boulder. "We see Beth Parento quite often, as she's working on her M.B.A. at U of Colorado in Boulder," notes Karen. "We're planning on hitting her up for some babysitting now!

Next comes the news of Ken and LauraLee (Hardegree) Davis, who definitely had their best holiday season ever, as they celebrated the arrival of their baby girl Katherine Lee—"Kaylee"—who was born on December 6. "She's absolutely beautiful and perfect (I'm not biased or anything!)" writes the proud mommy. Ken is still working at McKinsey and Laura Lee is working part-time as an admissions officer at Emory's Business School. "But, right now, we're both taking several weeks off to enjoy our little Christmas treasure!" Congratulations to both of you, as well!

Now on to the non-baby news...JohnMurray writes that upon graduation from law school in May, he went to London, where he met up with Mike Darin. John is currently clerking for the Hon. Colleen McMahon in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Matt Trusch has apparently traded a lucrative job banking with Merrill Lynch Asia and a Ph.D. at Harvard to become a movie star in China. He writes that he has just finished shooting the feature film X-Roads, a remake of a 1930s Chinese film classic, where he played the supporting role of Blondie. This followed a 20-part TV series called Don'tSay Goodbye, in which his character, Mr. Lehman, gets involved in a steamy office romance. Matt aims to land the leading role in a Chinese feature film, and to produce the next Bruce Lee kung fu movie. If you would like to contact Matt and find out if Mr. Lehman ever said goodbye, you can e-mail him at matt@ china-films.com. I guess he's the only "Matt" in the Chinese film industry. I'd say we'll look out for you, Matt, but I'm not sure we'd find you. If you have any crossover roles, please let us know...and best of luck to you!

After working as an analyst for Soros Fund Management for three years, Ashmita Goswami is now at Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate School of Management with Colleen LinehanDerek Braddock Dominick Engels,Mariella Villa, Jen Pack and more! "It seems like half of Dartmouth is here," writes Ashmita. Colleen, Derek and Ashmita will graduate this year, while Mariella and Jen are finishing their first year. "I will be doing an exchange quarter in Barcelona at lESE," writes Ashmita, "so if anyone wants to visit during January, February or March, they can e-mail me at a-goswami@nwu.edu!" Ashmita was also recently in South Africa, where she was part of a team developing MTV's entry strategy. "We went on safari (which was unbelievable!) and got to hear Nelson Mandela speak as well. It was truly amazing!" Ashmita also fills us in on some of her friends in other parts of the world/country: Jill Adelman is in N.Y. finishing up her master's in social work at NYU. "We had a crazy time this summer in Sardinia, Italy," reflects Ashmita "Hally Burak is doing some real exciting work at a hot Internet start up in N.Y. Jenzie Zepralka is in her second year at U.Penn Law school and is on her way to becoming a high-power attorney!" Thanks for the updates, Ashmita and thanks to all of you who wrote in with your action-packed news! Hope to hear more from all of you! Take care.
